MaTT [TiK] Posted May 27, 2006 Download's less than two weeks away!! Anyone else gonna be there? If so, e-mail me and we'll meet up for a toke at some point :) What bands are you all looking forward to seeing the most (whether you're going or not)? Do you American doomers even know what Download is? 0 Share this post Link to post

BlitZ Posted May 27, 2006 Why would we know if its in a different country? 0 Share this post Link to post

fodders Posted May 27, 2006 Hey, it's in my country and I aint heard of it. Now if it was the Isle of Wight Festival it would matter. 0 Share this post Link to post
Enjay Posted May 27, 2006 It's pretty far from being the largest festival on the circuit, but it's by no means small. http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk/lineup/index.asp 0 Share this post Link to post
zark Posted May 27, 2006 Pfft, Download is lame. There's like 3 bands that I'd like to see. Some of the rest are just meh and most are awful. 0 Share this post Link to post
TawmDee Posted May 27, 2006 Agreed. Most bands at Download are a pile of shit, only about 2-3 bands that I'd like to see, and some that I wouldn't midn seeing but aren't arsed either way. Now WACKEN, on the other hand... 0 Share this post Link to post
Mivalekan Posted May 27, 2006 Oh snap, Dragonforce will be playing there. :O 0 Share this post Link to post
Technician Posted May 27, 2006 There are a few bands I would love to see, but can't get there. Nothing good ever comes to Canada. 0 Share this post Link to post
sirjuddington Posted May 28, 2006 Bah we never get anything good in australia. Only real music festival is the big day out which is always a bunch of shithouse 'alternative' bands. 0 Share this post Link to post
alexz721 Posted May 28, 2006 There's actually a decent lineup of bands. 0 Share this post Link to post

We have Big Day Out in NZ too - we get a few big names, but other than that.. One I do go to is Parachute, if you like Christian music festivals :D 0 Share this post Link to post
Little Faith Posted May 28, 2006 There is a festival which happens just two blocks down the road from where I live, i usually attend to. They tend to get rather good bands as well. Though this year is not quite as good as usual. 0 Share this post Link to post
deathbringer Posted May 28, 2006 There was a Big Gay Out in London last year, that was a laugh, a few 80's bands lurching onto the stage on zimmer frames, some wank modern ones like Girls Aloud to take the piss out of, and some others i had never heard of (like some warbling fat old asian woman who was actually quite attractive, some thin women who stripped and pretended to wank with dildo's that shot silly string, and some bird who got hung from the ceiling with kebab skewers stuck in her back). Oh yeah and Frankie Goes To Hollywood played there too, they are excellent. I considered going to download, because a friend i dont see enough of is going, but its like £150 and that doesnt include camping, so bollocks. Nothing good ever comes to Canada. But ZEROSCAPE live there!, though they are probably in Germany or Belgium at the moment 0 Share this post Link to post

Not true one of the best thrash metal bands come from Canada, Slaughter. The line up for Download is bad. Nothing but nu or pop metal bands. TomD666 is right the only festival worth going to is Wacken Open Air. 0 Share this post Link to post
alexz721 Posted May 29, 2006 I thought Slaughter was a mediocre 80's metal band, unless you're referring to a different band of the same name. 0 Share this post Link to post

Nile came, Behemoth came, Cryptopsy came, and the local metal scene (other genres can go to hell) is looking better than ever, what with The Amenta, Psycroptic, Ruins, Omnium, Darklord and whatnot all sounding as good as they ever have. For some reason I associate you with Adelaide, which is where I am. You should go to Incineration II: Friday 9th June INCINERATION 2 Slaughter Thou Sarsekim Beyond Mortal Dreams Obsidian Aspect 7:30pm All Ages $10.00 at the door From the Fowler's Live gig guide webpage. 0 Share this post Link to post
Scientist Posted May 29, 2006 I laugh at you all because I'm gonna see Roger Waters! Okay it cost me a small fortune but he's gonna play Dark side of the moon! http://www.arrowrockfestival.nl/flash_content/page.asp?id=91 0 Share this post Link to post

Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I said it. I didn't mean to offend anyone though, sorry :) deathbringer said:I considered going to download, because a friend i dont see enough of is going, but its like £150 and that doesnt include camping, so bollocks. Actually it was £135 and that does include the camping and parking, etc. Oh well, I'm looking forward to seeing Trivium, Korn and Metallica in a row! Tool should be quite cool to see as well, and I'm probably gonna watch Guns N' Roses, but it's obviously not gonna be that good because Axl Rose is the only member of the original line-up left in the band. There were rumours that Slash was going to rejoin G&R but I think that was all just bullshit. I think Stone Sour, Soul Fly and Bullet will be pretty cool to watch, and I'd like to see Atreyu and The Prodigy but it looks like they're gonna conflict with Soul Fly and G&R. ROFL, the Eurovision Song Contest has put my off the idea of seeing Lordi. Anyone heard rumours about who the secret band might be this year? They're first surprise was Metallica which must've been sweet, but last year it was Funeral For A Friend so I'm not too hopeful about this year's. There have been rumours that it could be The Offspring or Foo Fighters, which would be cool but I think it's unlikely. Also could be Slipknot as two of the members will be there anyway, playing in Stone Sour. 0 Share this post Link to post
TawmDee Posted May 30, 2006 Get better music taste and go see the bands at Wacken. 0 Share this post Link to post
