Try the maps in HNTR, they are playable but some rooms are hard if you play like shit.

Wow, there is a DW search function? Great. Sorry, I was misled by the name: dv.zip not deusvult.zip. Thanks. Now I have it. Better yet, it's for single player.

Some people must realize that not everybody is a Doom God. I most certainly am not (I can barely hold my own at Skill 3).

Most wads have difficulty settings, and DV aimed to be like HR/AV but bigger. High skill player-mappers don't make their maps for crappy players, since they want to make something they will find fun themselves. And in Huy Pham's case, he was pretty generous adding all three difficulty settings.

Doom 2 itself. When it comes to DV, I die at least ten times a minute on skill 1.
