Granted, these people would have to be educated as to make more intelligent, reasonable decisions affecting their lives and the lives of others. Okay... I have followed along here and this thread seems to be more about nationalism than socio-politics.


As an American I do not have the tradition or legacy of an indiginous people. But I don't have the baggage either. I do not believe that the concept of democracy can work for every nation. It doesn't work really all that great for us. But at least each individual has a means to make their voice heard.

I am an American. As an American I can start a business from my living room. I can attend any university with financial assistance. I can work any sort of job to gain life experience. I can walk down streets in relative freedom from fear. I can live in a variety of climates and experience many cultures while also keeping a common identity with those around me.

I do not believe that America is perfect. I do not believe that we should be the world's police department. I do not believe that we are puritan in our international policy. I do not believe that we should involve ourselves in every international issue that comes around.

But I do understand issues as a person raised in 'the melting pot'. I have studied the effects of language and communications through the years. I believe that differences in communication are the root of nearly all human conflict. Having been adopted as the 'international tongue', English has facilitated a tremendous level of 'social grafting' in the United States. While being a source of internal strife, this 'cross culturization' has provided a greater level of strength and awareness to this nation.

The net result of this is that while I may not agree with your position, your opinion, your politics, or your lifestyle, I am probably better equipped and more open to understanding it than say, a Totsi tribesman.

It's not feasible to do otherwise, or "sportsmen" may start bitching that they can't run holes through wild animals (bows work nearly as well and require a little more skill, but nobody would agree -_-). Well, the admins are busy with the site, that's why they "hire" mods. Of course, mods are limited to specific forums, otherwise I'd probably get this thread on track. I can still delete entire threads from any forum (thanks to the excessively buggy forum software), but there's enough decent arguments here that I wouldn't trash it. I could probably ban some people if it gets really bad. I haven't banned anybody for almost 18 hours, I'm itchin' here :)
