XXoXX Posted July 3, 2006 Sorry if this has been raised many times. I have a 512kb/256kb ADSL connection. But many of the servers i see on Zdaemon have ping 500 and upwards. Which is unplayable. Also, my modem is connected to my router which in turn is connected to my com now. I have a pretty fast computer so im sure it's not the problem. Is geographical location the main factor determining ping? (I live in Malaysia if you're asking and the only servers with decent enough ping seems to be the Aussies ones.) Is there any way to help improve my playing experience? Thanks for helping me with this. 0 Share this post Link to post
fodders Posted July 4, 2006 Yes, you will get a better ping to servers nearer you, even in the USA ping will be greater for players in the USA but a long way from servers on the other side of the country. 0 Share this post Link to post
XXoXX Posted July 6, 2006 Dang, is that true? Then I'm stuck with Aussie severs. Does switching ports help things? I'm eyeing Skulltag for some time now. 0 Share this post Link to post
Belial Posted July 6, 2006 It doesn't. Then again, look at Scave, he doesn't mind the ping :P 0 Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted July 7, 2006 Well, occationally there's the odd indonesian (or whatever it is, I suck at geography) ST server up. But yeah, I think you would be better off with Zdaemon as it got the aussie servers. 0 Share this post Link to post
