[Bug?] Can't place player1 start

After I saved, built the nodes automatically (prior to a test) and ran the test (prboom+), the level started me in a random(?) location (in void space). I exited the test, deleted all player1 starts(had a few voodoos around for testing) and placed a new one at the correct starting place. It gave me the same result when I ran the test again. Any idea how to get rid of this false start? When I do a search under 'thing type' for player1 starts it finds nothing. Could it be a problem with the nodebuilder(zdbsp)? Thanks for any help you can give...
