The Black Mask Posted October 29, 2006 Post freeware games being distributed on the internet. http://www.freeciv.org/index.php/Freeciv http://www.freeciv.org/images/1/1d/Shot1.png <-- Screenshot, most impressive. If you like grand scale stradegy games, you'll love this - fully customizable (graphics, rules, sounds, etc). 0 Share this post Link to post
leileilol Posted October 29, 2006 That's Free Software, NOT freeware. In that case, http://freedoom.sourceforge.net http://www.nexuiz.com http://tremulous.net http://www.bzflag.org http://cheapy.deathmask.net are highly recommended. 0 Share this post Link to post
AirRaid Posted October 29, 2006 I've never played a stradegy game before. 0 Share this post Link to post

Sharessa Posted October 30, 2006 Heh, Freeciv. I've known about that game for years now, but I never bothered downloading it. Never had much of a reason to (I own a ton of Civ games). But that screenshot shows it's coming along pretty well now, so...what the Hell? Kingdom of Loathing That game is horribly fun. I stopped playing it when World of Warcraft jaded me though. It plays a lot like Legend of the Red Dragon (if anyone ever played that), so much that I think it was mainly inspired by it. It has a lot of subtle MMORPG elements too. HTML based, and not horribly graphically arousing, but it's a hoot to play sometimes. 0 Share this post Link to post

Snarboo Posted November 1, 2006 Yeah I know, it's pretty wild. :) The comments in the news post say that a new version of Line Rider was used for the film that has a few new line types, such as scenary, and a line eraser. 0 Share this post Link to post

Janizdreg Posted November 1, 2006 Little Fighter 2. I've had tons of fun playing it, and it's especially enjoyable if you can gather enough players for running tournaments (I'd say four or more is good enough). 0 Share this post Link to post
Doomshadow Posted November 12, 2006 doomrts.com it's still in beta stages, but it's still a good game. It's a real time strategy game. 0 Share this post Link to post
ducon Posted November 14, 2006 Debian users should type aptitude install tremulous. 0 Share this post Link to post
