Quasar Posted November 8, 2006 YES! One more Neocon thrown out the window. This was overdue a couple of years ago. Now, what kind of moron will replace him? 0 Share this post Link to post
AndrewB Posted November 8, 2006 I think I heard something about Bill Gates replacing him. I could be wrong though. 0 Share this post Link to post

Bucket Posted November 8, 2006 Like they say on Fark: "You're doing a heckuva job, Rummy." 0 Share this post Link to post
insertwackynamehere Posted November 8, 2006 :) Now the dems just have to take the senate and then the presidency (in 2 years) and it looks like things may be looking up 0 Share this post Link to post
Naked Snake Posted November 8, 2006 Actually, Rumsfeld is pretty liberal as far as Republicans go. However, it remains that he totally sucks at running a war, so out he goes. Bye-bye Rummy, we hardly knew ye. 0 Share this post Link to post

The rest was pretty much him putting his face instead of someone else. Had the elections gone somewhat differently, he would have stayed, regardless of a little more or less personal skill in management. 0 Share this post Link to post

I this was a pre-emptive strike to prevent major waves from the the power change in the legislate. *edit* yeah... and there goes fox news with the brilliant "fair and balanced" reporting they do. fodders Posted November 9, 2006 He will forever be remembered for his delicious Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns - the ones we don't know we don't know 0 Share this post Link to post

I think his most memorable quote was this disaster:Freedom's untidy, and free people are free to make mistakes and commit crimes and do bad things. 0 Share this post Link to post
GGG Posted November 10, 2006 Hey, who needs to watch the news when you have Doomworld forums? This oughta be the icing on the cake for the midterm elections. And they thought they could win by pulling the Saddam verdict out of their ass. 0 Share this post Link to post
Quasar Posted November 10, 2006 Nobody really gave a damn about the Saddam verdict. He's already deposed, so as far as a lot of people care, they could ship him off to some Caribbean island where he could live out the rest of his existence in luxurious house arrest. It has very little impact on the real world. Iraq's not gonna get better because of it, especially not when Saddam was calling for peace between the various sects. That'll probably just make them even more rowdy. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted November 10, 2006 Did anyone ever read that thread on Something Awful where some guy was claiming to be a White House aide and posting all kinds of random secrets about the people there? I remember he said Rumsfeld had some kind of bladder problem that prevented him from ever sitting down. That's why you always see him at a stand-up desk and such. He also has some condition that makes it painful for him to laugh so if anyone makes a joke around him he kind of stares at them with a weird grin for a moment before wheezing out a creepy laugh. There were tons of other weird-ass factiods about the people there, like one of the older guys who has like psychotic-level OCD. Dunno if it was true or not, but the factoids were so random and mostly non-security breaching the fact that a couple had been rumors floating around fora bit gave a bit of credance to it all. Oh yeah, and: 0 Share this post Link to post
Enjay Posted November 19, 2006 Shame he just resigned and did not kill himself. He'll be back in some shape or form. Nasty little shit. In 1971 President Nixon said:".. at least Rummy is tough enough" and "He's a ruthless little bastard. You can be sure of that." 0 Share this post Link to post
