Vegeta Posted November 29, 2006 Just for the sake of it, share your ideas for DOOM artifacts, no matter wich gameplay mode they're for. -Paranoid curse: When you activate it you summon a character that looks exactly like you, it start roaming arround like a bot. It doesn't attack others, that's the only way for other players to identify it. If someone shoots it the attacker looses health (the equivalent of it's attack), and the player who spawned the character receives it. -Possesion: An artifact that shoots a projectile when activated, if it hits a monster (doesn't work with players, and neither archviles nor bosses), your body dissapears and you start controling the target (in third person view). Once killed you spawn back. -Ressurection: If killed you can activate this and ressurect. -Monster mode: Unlimited ammo, damage floors don't hurt you, you can see in the dark. Works until you're killed or finish the map. 0 Share this post Link to post
OmegaJ4 Posted November 29, 2006 Chaos Element: When you fire it an enemy, the enemy will go beserk and attack anything it can find. (Dosen't work of Viles or Bosses) 0 Share this post Link to post
printz Posted November 30, 2006 Demon gem: turns you into a reddish demon who can charge like the lost soul. Inspired from an idea I had for Quake, where you would turn into a fiend. Crimson cutthroat scythe: breaks your head off and makes it act like a lost soul from Doom 3 retail. You become smaller (like a head), gain the ability to fly and charge, and it makes it possible to explore the level. You'd have to return to your "corpse" within 60 seconds, otherwise you die permanently. Prayer megaphone or prayer player: as a minor artifact, it makes it so your next shot does full damage. It's like a luck factor. You hear church music in the background. Poison: coming up as rotten medikits, they hurt you when you pick them up. They're bad artifacts. They can be picked up by monsters. Monsters who pick them up are healed. Concoction potion: same as rotten medikits, but for health potions. Both things above should make the player gasp. 0 Share this post Link to post
OmegaJ4 Posted November 30, 2006 Demon Bait: A throwable item. If thrown at an enemy, it will not only stun them, but any Demon nearby will instantly attack them. 0 Share this post Link to post
EarthQuake Posted November 30, 2006 Extra Life: After picking this up, when you die, you respawn with the level intact as opposed to starting over. Damage Amplifier: Something like the Quad Damage that temporarily increases the damage from all weapons. 0 Share this post Link to post
Coopersville Posted November 30, 2006 Manipulation: When picked up, all monsters on screen will fight each-other and any other monsters in the area until their death. Berserk: Your weapons will do 1.5x damage, and fire twice as fast. Last for about 30 seconds. Basically stolen from UT =/ Inferno: Uses the Arch-Vile's fire attack against all monsters on screen. Deadly Sight: All enemies on screen slowly take damage-- about as deadly as chaingun fire. Lasts for about 30 seconds. Basically stolen from Jedi Knight. 0 Share this post Link to post
Hobbs Posted November 30, 2006 Like stated above, the damage amplifier. IMO Doom isn't really missing anything in the powerups department. 0 Share this post Link to post
Raikoh_Minamoto Posted November 30, 2006 Stone of Thanatos: Allows the player to control certain enemies for a limited time. Meh... Hellsong: The Hellsong will cause the player to inherit traits of the demons he kills, e.g. killing a Cybie will make the Rocket Launcher fire in 3-round bursts. 0 Share this post Link to post
Terra-jin Posted November 30, 2006 The Cacosphere: When picked up, you gain the ability to fly. The effect wears off after a while, so you'd better land when the screen starts to flash (if you have falling damage turned on). There's a catch however; there is a chance this will give you an adverse effect instead. The adverse effect of the Cacosphere is inverted gravity. You will fall to the ceiling which turns your world upside down. If you fall into the sky, you're dead. The Phasing Artifact: Grants the ability to walk through walls. You can still be hit though, so don't get too cocky. If the effect wears off when you're inside a wall, it's an instant kill. The adverse effect is that everything goes pitch dark. You'll have to grope your way to safety until the effect wears off. The Turbo Orb: Yeah, this one increases or decreases your speed. If you get slowed down, better hope you took precautions against being a sitting duck! Otherwise, enjoy outrunning fireballs and missiles. 0 Share this post Link to post
Foofoo Posted November 30, 2006 Demon Pornography Magazine: pick it up and you can throw it around and make the other demons be drawn to it for a certain amount of time instead of attacking you. 0 Share this post Link to post
GGG Posted November 30, 2006 BLACK GLOVES: When you pick them up, your mugshot turns into O.J. Simpson and if you kill a monster, you will have not killed that monster. FUCKING FORK: Pick it up and 50 years ago you can shove it up the ass of the nigger monster. Every one you pick up will boost Seinfeld DVD sales. ADMISSION TICKET TO APOCALYPTO: Upon picking this up, all monsters in front of you will turn into sugar tits, and you will own Malibu. If you can't beat the level, you will get to go to rehab. 0 Share this post Link to post
DJShrimpy Posted November 30, 2006 THEIF ORB Lets you steal the enemie's wallet after fragging him/her/it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Technician Posted December 1, 2006 I was thinking hiding seven Berserk emeralds and when you collect them all you go "Super Marine". 0 Share this post Link to post
harbringer Posted December 1, 2006 Psycho Factor Causes 1 of 5 effects: 1) You go into a hallucinogenic state, everything looks rainbow. You can see monsters anywhere, but you can't see walls. 2)You turn into a ghost, all shots and projectiles go through you, only bfg and explosions can kill you. You have 1 hp though. 3) All the Monsters go ghost V2.0. You shoot them, they die, but they pop up two seconds later, ready to fight again. 4) All the monsters are traded in for one of the hardest monster in the game: You. With a BFG10K 5) The SOL round. Same as 4 but All monsters are replaced by "You". In other words, "You're" everywhere. 0 Share this post Link to post
Captain Red Posted December 1, 2006 ASH MODE Player draws boath the Super shotgun and chainsaw. For 30 seconds, the super shotgun dosn't need to be reloaded (allowing for x4 the firing rate) and the chainsaw is a 1 hit kill weapons for non-bosses (the chainsaw would automatically slash at point blank range). 0 Share this post Link to post
Vegeta Posted December 1, 2006 Possesion: if you hit a monster with this artifact, your soul moves to the monster, you can controll it, monsters don't attack you unless you hurt them (notarget mode). You return back to normal after certain amount of time, if you end the map, or if you're killed. Meanwhile your marine body is there, monsters still attack you (if there's one in the area), if you're marine body dies, once you back normal you're dead, even if you finish the map. 0 Share this post Link to post
TwinBeast Posted December 1, 2006 Slime Trails: The player's ass will start oozing that green slime in the barrels and in the floors. Because it comes from the player, the player is immune to it, but the monsters and other players are not. Head Of Mirrors: This will cause monsters and other players to get Hall Of Mirrors effects. The effect on monsters will be like the invisibility sphere, but they(the players also) will get damage, because they go so crazy. Eventually their heads will go POP! Tuttifrutti Banzai Mode: This is Slime Trails, Head Of Mirrors combined with Berserk and even more colourful and annoying hallucinative pixels flying in the screen of other players. It will also boost the rocketlauncher splash damage effect two times bigger. The hallucinative pixels will be seen flying in your screen too. Nightmare Orb: This will make the game behave like it was played in Nightmare mode. So you will get double ammo, fast respawning monsters... In nightmare mode, the effect is kind of reversed and you will get normal enemies that will never respawn again, monsters inflict half damage to you, but you won't get double ammo anymore.. Russian Reversal Machine: In US, you kill the monsters... In Soviet Russia, the monsters kill YOU!! But while the monsters aren't killing YOU!! your health regenerates up to 100 points... 0 Share this post Link to post
True_Power Posted December 1, 2006 DittoHead: Pick up a flashing Lost Soul locked up in a small cage, when you let it go it charges after the enemy, attacking them latching onto the enemy making their health decline. It can be used only once, and after all the enemies in the area are killed and there is none in its sight, it blows up. 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted December 1, 2006 For DM - Divination: Pick this up and a small window opens up for a short time in the top right of the screen, where you can see through the eyes of your opponents (hit a button to cycle through them). You yourself would still be able to play like normal. 0 Share this post Link to post
sausage Posted December 1, 2006 Birthday cake - all monsters wear party hats and don't attack you as it is your birthday :) - sausage - 0 Share this post Link to post

You gave me a full hint on how to use a Press Release Doom Skullchest as a powerup or weapon. 0 Share this post Link to post
Warlin Posted December 2, 2006 Keanu Cacao:If you find a minature blue cacaodemon who is breakdancing and constantly saying, "woah." Pick it up and you will suddenly have the urge to smoke pot and be a pale white boy who has no acting talent and a weird band. You will also have the ability to wear black trench coats, fly superman style, and stop bullets in mid flight. Unfortunately this doesnt stop demons from biting your ass off. The Dick Chaney Orb:Only avaliable in Team Deathmatches and CTF modes. Everysingle one of your teammates faces will look like a quail and your trigger finger will become incredibly itchy....oh so itchy...You will also gain immunity to damage as every time someone tries to hurt you a guy in a black suit will jump in the way of your bullets. 0 Share this post Link to post
sidarmas Posted December 21, 2006 explosive ammo: For 25 seconds, all non explosive-plasma weapons will emit a detonation charge when fired. Splash damage is doubled, and will not hurt you for this duration. Appears as a stone with a fire symbol on it. Medic Armor: this pickup grants player with 400 armor, giving a 65% damage protection bonus, as well as maintaining the marine's health at 100 (or higher, depending on health bonus, supercharge, mega sphere, etc). Appears as white armor with red cross on shoulders. One Burst of strength: When at 10%-0% health, this artifact comes into play, allowing 2 minutes of unrestricted super speed, super strength on all weapons, and infinate ammo. Screen dimms, then turns gold before powerup is depleted. Appears as a black orb with the face of a skeleton on it. Armistace: 1 minute of free movement without monsters attacking you. Appears as a scroll with a small clock next to it. 0 Share this post Link to post
OmegaJ4 Posted December 21, 2006 Focus: You can dodge all bullets, missles and fireballs. (And you turn into neo, only for a short while of course) Disguise: You turn into either a Zombieman, Shotgunner, Chaingunner or an Imp. You can then freely walk by enemys, who won't attack you, as they think you are on of them. Your cover is blown if you collide with an enemy or attack it. Vision: For a short time, you can see through doors and walls to see what dangers lurk on the other side. Super Speed: Gain the ability to run VERY fast. Super Strength: Gain the ability to Pick up enemies (Except Mastermind and Cyber) and throw them around Rewind: If you feel you made a mistake. You use this artifact. You send yourself back a few seconds and correct what you did wrong. Bomb: If all else fails, use this to take yourself out... And anyone nearby. 0 Share this post Link to post
Echart Denzari Posted December 22, 2006 Imp idol: Allows you to throw fireballs for a short amount of time, each fireball is the power of a normal shotgun blast at close range, only they can fire like the chaingun Cyberdemon limb: Temporarily gives you a rocket launcher that fires three rockets in a row with unlimited ammo Demon's spirit: increses your speed and adds beserk for a short time, there is a small chance it will also add a blur artifact-like invisibility. Hellfire: a grenade-like weapon, if it hits a target dead-on, it will do large damage, otherwise, it will make the spot it lands act like it was hit with an arch-vile flame attack. You can hold 10 without the backpack, 20 with. Hellknight's horn: Comes in two flavors, hellknight or baron (the baron version glows red). Hellknight gives you full health and armor, plus allows you to toss green plasma which is the same as an imp fireball. Baron is the same, only the plasma does the same damage as a super shotgun at close range. The attack is temporary, the health and armor is permanant. Sacrifical knife: A close-range weapon, less powerfun then the chainsaw, more powerful than fists. If you kill an enemy with the sacrifical knife, you will get a health bonus. (how much depends on the enemy.) This is a permanent pick-up. If i think of more, i'll put them here. 0 Share this post Link to post
printz Posted December 22, 2006 The dunnowhat is whether all these artifacts are going to be implemented by a veryproductivemister or just left in the forums to wither. 0 Share this post Link to post
SulfurOccult Posted December 22, 2006 some artifacts i was thinking of for a mod that i never finished, mostly because i never made these artifacts: Aura of Water: allows you to draw health from sacred pools and remain under water without drowning. Calm of Flames: allows you to walk over lava or other hot surfaces without damage - toxic surfaces like nukage still hurt though. Granite Ward: permanent damage reduction. something about wind item: players speed is increased (auto run is enabled and forced on, the player having been forced to walk before). 0 Share this post Link to post
OmegaJ4 Posted December 22, 2006 One other idea Inner Demon: You turn into a very large Belphagor. You become immune to most attack's and you can kill all minor enemies in one hit. But if you stay like this for too long, you begin to lose health. 0 Share this post Link to post
