Yesterday I was caught by nostalgia so I played Realm of Chaos in the standard Doom2.exe. In map 13, near the end, I noticed some voodoo dolls and accidentally I shot one of them with the SSG. But I didn't die: I started to walk around without any weapons and with the dead face. I read an article about this behavior on the Wikia but it isn't clear. Can anyone explain?

It's a bug, it makes you wander around the level "dead" allowing you to pull off some nutty shit.
