what ports supports map info lumps?

1. Good question.
2. Just use WhackEd or DeHackEd to edit the strings. You can change most of the text in the game this way.

1. AFAIK ZDoom, Boom, and JDoom (and their based ports) all do, but sometimes in different ways.
2. AFAIK MAPINFO and DeHackEd are the only ways.

I have heard of dehacked (JUST heard ok!) but what is the other stuff?

I'd take a look at each port's editing documentation. How to change the epilogue text might really depend on the port. Some may use raw Dehacked, others -- BEX format (extended Dehacked), others -- MAPINFO (or EMAPINFO for Eternity), others -- separate lumps, others -- to be hex-hacked.

So you can't edit the epilogue text without using a port?
