bones58 Posted September 2, 2007 Always thought it sounded a bit surreal and out of place for end level music, especially since Doom 1 and 2 had upbeat rock tracks for Level end music. Is there any meaning to it? Or story behind it for that matter? 0 Share this post Link to post
AndrewB Posted September 2, 2007 I think the story behind it is that a bunch of guys threw together a wad. 0 Share this post Link to post
40oz Posted September 3, 2007 A story behind an intermission? I dont think so. You travel alone in which the exit of every level has a hallway decorated in METAL2 onto a plain of GRASS1 until you get to the starting room of the next map, while reviewing how many kills and secrets and items you got and how long it took you to beat it. 0 Share this post Link to post
sidarmas Posted September 4, 2007 Well, you could put it like this. In my own opinion, I feel its a song where it reflects how many times you fucking died on that same level while trying to get the right key to open the door to the fucking exit, and how many times you lost that SSG and the chaingun, because TNT is just a pain in the shithole. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sinfis Posted September 4, 2007 I've always been liked it. It doesn't have to be an upbeat rock track for me. It has the same feeling that the end text tracks in Doom 1 & 2; touchy and moving. On the other hand, it would have fit better the end text music of TNT. 0 Share this post Link to post
Vegeta Posted September 4, 2007 While by the best intermision screens are in the original DOOM (excluding E4), I kinda like this one. The only thing that bug me is the DOOM 2 sky, yet I think it's good enough. Still I wish it was used for a victory screen or intermission picture in the first DOOM 2 "episode" (and something else for the other "episodes"), that'd rock. 0 Share this post Link to post
Inferno Posted September 5, 2007 I thought the end music was a bit different but it fit well. I liked it. 0 Share this post Link to post
40oz Posted September 5, 2007 I dunno, I liked Doom 1's Intermission music. I think all intermission music sounds good when it's explosive. like Duke Nukem Theme song style. I didn't really like doom 2's intermission music. It was fast and had a spooky feeling. It was like riding a rollercoaster through a haunted house. 0 Share this post Link to post
aleksej Posted September 7, 2007 I have a song with that theme by Synthpop band "Second Sight". 0 Share this post Link to post
Frankdude Posted September 8, 2007 I thought the TNT end level music was fitting because it was doomguys last battle. 0 Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted September 8, 2007 I found it very very fitting. It was a great contrast to the chaotic battling of Doom. Pity the background image in the intermission was so very horrible. 0 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted September 30, 2007 rich77: And please stop the pointless bumping. 0 Share this post Link to post
rich77 Posted September 30, 2007 Sorry, not quite sure what you're talking about. Is it forum slang? I'm just new to forums you see. 0 Share this post Link to post
Patrick Posted September 30, 2007 dont resurrect dead threads. or you go to ... post hell ... 0 Share this post Link to post
Dutch Doomer Posted September 30, 2007 Youre bumping old/dead threads with comments which aren't adding anything usefull to the discussion, its cool that you liked the tnt music but apart from that the reply isn't helping anyone. 0 Share this post Link to post
40oz Posted October 1, 2007 Check the dates on the last post. If the last post is more than a week old, dont bother sharing unless it's REALLY important. Bumping is a term used for "bumping" a thread to the top of the list of threads because the threads that get the latest reply to are on top. And people that read the topic weeks ago don't really enjoy reading it again. 0 Share this post Link to post
rich77 Posted October 1, 2007 OK. I now understand what bumping means. So basically, only reply to threads that are under a week old? 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted October 1, 2007 Just read what people told you, and quit making dumb questions. If in doubt, post less and read more to get a hang of how people behave, and read the FAQ. If you still have doubts after doing this a good while, send a moderator or admin a message with your questions. 0 Share this post Link to post
