Hi resolution sprites

Hi, I was wondering if there is any source port that supports hi resolution sprites (not md2 models), or if there is any king of hi-resolution sprites pack.
Skulltag has a double resolution replacement for some items (double resolution), but i'm talking about a full depixelized set of sprites.
Is also a standard of implementing hi-resolution sprites(e.g. graphic format, 32 bit or 8 bit color depth, sprite origin, etc)?

This doesn't exist for the simple reason that it is an enormous amount of work. It'd take a lot of time to do even one single monster which may consist of more than 100 images.

Yes, it's difficult, but also creation of md2 models is difficult. But there are also sprites like weapons, decorations, bonus and player sprites that don't have rotations, just few lumps or even 1.

While EDGE supports hi-resolution sprites (by using IMAGES.DDF), we don't have any replacement packs for normal DOOM monsters or items.
