Wolfenstein s.s Posted October 6, 2007 can someone tell me how to make stairs, teleporters and doors on doombuilder 0 Share this post Link to post
deathbringer Posted October 6, 2007 Stairs: make lots of sectors and join them together, make the floor a little higher in each one. Make sure to make the ceiling of all the sectors high enough too Teleporters: Make a sector or line, make it a teleporter and give it a tag number. Now make another sector somewhere else and put a "teleport destination" thing in it, and give the sector the same tag number Doors: Make a sector between two rooms, make the ceiling the same height as the floor, and make the two lines that touch the rooms into doors. Make sure they face outwards 0 Share this post Link to post
Icarus Posted October 6, 2007 Check google for the Illistrated Guide to Doom Builder, pretty invaluable. Tells you all of the above, plus some more complex stuffs too. 0 Share this post Link to post
Stealthy Ivan Posted October 6, 2007 I also think DB comes with a tutorial file? Not sure though, I never needed it. :P 0 Share this post Link to post
Mivalekan Posted October 6, 2007 If you can't figure out how to make stairs yourself then I don't think mapping is for you. :/ 0 Share this post Link to post
Maes Posted October 6, 2007 Doombuilder is powerful, but can become quite counterintuitive sometimes (e.g. oldskool DEU had an automatic "Build Stairs" function, while in DB you must rely on the built-in sector generation and be careful not to misplace or select a single sidedef in the wrong order, else the sectors won't auto-complete). 0 Share this post Link to post
