some random maps im working on

im working on some maps, here are some screenshots. they are pretty much only maps made to look at, because i suck at making gameplay/fun.

Ah, thanks. the last one is a recent one, i wanted to create a cleaner looking map than i usually do, and i have never used those metal textures before-- it was a test to see how well i can use them. when i make maps i just try to use the textures to their fullest.

did i do something wrong? for some reason i think that sounds kinda sarcastic but im not really sure. ill try to fix whatever slope errors there are and ill probably put some more screenshots up tomorrow or something.

No. You're doing it right. You're the first mapper I've ever seen that can do them right with any consistency though.

they look very nice, when you release them, we'll see how playable they are. the floors look a litte under-detailed, and dont seem to have much height variation. nonetheless, these look nice.

whoa, dang, thanks guys for the friendly comments. ill try a little harder to have more height variation. right now im working on the last screenshot's map. im planning on sticking some 3d floors in that, and having some height variation and some monster sniping spots.

Love the Quake and Doom2 texture appreciation. Go easy on symmetry is all I can say, otherwise finish 'em up.

ok here are some new screenshots, from the map that was in the last screenshot in my first post.

this is showing off a stacked sector just to show it off. there is going to be some redesigning though.

just started working on the outside part of the base... its huge. i havent spent much time on it yet.

with this map im going to try to create a mix between ultimate simplicity and kdizd level of detail.

the sky is from austerity. most of the textures are from austerity/ultimate simplicity. im also using like 3 gothic textures. im also using nick baker textures from afterglow. speaking of textures... does anyone know a good set of textures that are based on regular doom textures, but expand them? dont tell me recolored doom or something like that, im talkin about entirely new textures that are just like different variations or stock textures.
