Mithral_Demon Posted January 2, 2008 I need a nice set of dark cathedral-ish style and maybe something with metal textures, but sadly I cannot find any... I know of a set of textures, but unsure where to get: GothicDM ? 0 Share this post Link to post

Mithral_Demon Posted January 2, 2008 So, I read the message of "Cannot use as base", what does that mean? Atm I'm tired from awakening and it's not easy to figure out. 0 Share this post Link to post

Patrick Posted January 3, 2008 try the the Hexen 2 textures, i think they're not so overused as the gothic textures. they're on afterglow's doom textures page. There are some other nice textures that might be what you're looking for on there too... 0 Share this post Link to post
Mithral_Demon Posted January 3, 2008 I like GothicDM's textures, much like what I see in Torm's stuff, but nonetheless... Does the Hexen one also have skies? 0 Share this post Link to post
ellmo Posted January 3, 2008 "You can't use as a base" - means, you are not allowed to create your own textures using elements from this pack, without permission. You are of course allowed to use the unmodified texture pack (unless the readme states otherwise). 0 Share this post Link to post
Mithral_Demon Posted January 3, 2008 Ah... Ok, now I understand. But if any one is using the Hexen 2 textures, tell me, if there are sky textures because Doom2's normal skies suck except sky3. :S 0 Share this post Link to post
Patrick Posted January 3, 2008 there was a set of sky textures released a few months ago that were fairly decent, look throught idgames or old /newstuff reviews, i imagine you'll find them. if you're looking for an appropriate sky, i'd try looking thru the Hexen or Heretic iWad 0 Share this post Link to post
Mithral_Demon Posted January 4, 2008 Hmmmn... Hexen textures pretty good, need sky though, I only liek skies, no more walls, ceiling/floor textures. Mixing Hexen and Gothic2 textures are pretty interest imo. 0 Share this post Link to post
Patrick Posted January 4, 2008 There were some nice skies in this resource wad that might suit you well 0 Share this post Link to post
Mithral_Demon Posted January 4, 2008 Sadly, that skieseye.wad has none of the texture availabe to choose, it's preset.... Whats the script that makes the map sky your choice if you can't exactly do "LineDef Action- 9= Line Horizon" as it looks ugly ingame? 0 Share this post Link to post
Enjay Posted January 4, 2008 Mithral_Demon said:"LineDef Action- 9= Line Horizon" That looks like a Zdoom line type. If you are using Zdoom, then you can use the MAPINFO lump to define which sky gets used on what level. http://zdoom.org/wiki/MAPINFO [edit]In fact, I just checked the file you were linked to. It uses a MAPINFO lump for precisely that purpose. So you could pull it apart and see how it was done.[/edit] 0 Share this post Link to post
