Tutorials for basic Texture editing in XWE

I have created a tutorial for newbies that answers some basic questions on using custom textures. It's at DooM Nexus.

For me this tutorial doesnt work.

Step 6: XWE doesnt create PNAMES for me.

I am running Vista and I am using the DOOM.WAD, maybe thats why? Any thoughts?

I'm not sure if Vista is causing the problem, and this would be an issue for Csabo to address.

Meanwhile, here is an old thread that partially addresses the question. I'm not sure if it will help.

As a work-around, you can simply use XWE to export the PNAMES & TEXTUREx lumps to a folder on your computer, then use XWE to re-import them into your wad.
