Therefore, I'm probably the only person who appreciates this shot. I look forward to using 3D floors in maps soon! http://i.imgur.com/ayT0T9hl.pngYeah, 3D Floors can be fun. I remember my first time dabbling with them, with SRB2 editing back in the early 2000s. Took me ages to realize that you could stack multiple 3D Floors atop one another by giving them the same tag... scalliano said:http://i.imgur.com/VcRAhgA.png http://i.imgur.com/WdURico.png Still WIP. I'm reminded of DM-Morpheus from Unreal Tournament and UT2004. 0 Share this post Link to post

Dutch Doomer Posted May 15, 2013 Yeah whats a uac base without crates, I stick them everywhere. 0 Share this post Link to post
Koko Ricky Posted May 15, 2013 scalliano, that second shot reminds me of the original Unreal Tournament. Lookin' good! 0 Share this post Link to post

Nah, I found them in Google images while I was attempting to find a cover picture of a shovelware cd that I had back in 94. I looked at the host site briefly to see what it's in relation to, but I didn't find out. 0 Share this post Link to post
Butts Posted May 16, 2013 I'm loving that nature shot. Hard to believe it's vanilla doom. I like the rock texture on the ground, Mr. Dutch Devil. But do as you wish. And that lab has good (creepy dark) atmosphere, scalliano. The cute monsters are hilarious. More fan art! A semi-epic map. Sort of a surreal-ish green-ish theme. Super incomplete. http://imageshack.us/a/img89/1571/doom01.png http://imageshack.us/a/img90/2985/doom30.png http://imageshack.us/a/img24/1230/doom04.png there is going to be like... 5 more big buildings. I think that slime brick box in the middle of the slime pit on the grnrock is probably going to be a central location of the map. http://imageshack.us/a/img7/1774/doom08.png http://imageshack.us/a/img843/6258/doom12.png dont know if this arch looks more appropriate or is more functional than http://imageshack.us/a/img38/8924/doom27.bmp this arch. http://imageshack.us/a/img689/5072/doom28.png http://imageshack.us/a/img27/3838/doom29.png pretty much a non-linear semi-slaughter. mostly old school style is what im going for... hopefully with some novel fresh flair Does anyone know of any WADs that make good use of zimmer8 or grnrock? Also, I would like to find a sky that is a better fit, are there any skies that are mostly green and do not tile poorly? 0 Share this post Link to post

glenzinho Posted May 16, 2013 LigH said:Like this one? http://www.addoncollector.spielepedia.de/cover/img082.jpg Nah, although that elephant man cover has a cool vibe to it. It also looks like it's from '96 with Quake, Hexen & Duke 3D written on it. Mine was called <something> Doom Explosion or just Doom Explosion. I had it before Doom 2 was released so it only contained pwads just for Doom 1 as well as the classic utilities such as Deu and WadEd. I have another cd from PC Zone April 1995, which had some of the first Doom 2 & Heretic wads & utilities, but I miss the first one. 0 Share this post Link to post
Katamori Posted May 16, 2013 glenzinho said:More cute monsters Someone should make a Doom WAD where everyone is toddler. A lot of cartoons have similar spinoff, e.g. Looney Tunes. Imagine baby Doomguy with the armor that is bigger than himself with a toy pistol as he shoots that cacodemon in a diaper! 0 Share this post Link to post

Although not the same, I had the idea after I drew the Doom Powered Up image that someone should totally do it. Cutesy sounds, super-deformed enemies, colourful textures, the works. 0 Share this post Link to post

Dco16 Posted May 16, 2013 A funny thing happened on the way from ZDoom format to UDMF. This map stayed intact: http://i.imgur.com/EA8UxUp.png Except every linedef looked like this: http://i.imgur.com/4Q27PhX.png PANIC MODE ACTIVATED. Good thing there were backups. 0 Share this post Link to post

Open two instances of DB2, and copy and paste the map from the Hexen-format map to an empty UDMF one. This should yield saner results, though in my experience it for some reason creates precision errors occasionally, where vertices or things will be off by 0.01 or something. It's enough to screw with fake-contrast and vertex slopes, at least. 0 Share this post Link to post

I found my copy on eBay, there was one listed fairly recently as "Red Hat Doom". As for ISO images, the Internet Archive has a bunch but not that one (maybe soon), and if you want to start drawing up a wishlist - take a look at this collection. 0 Share this post Link to post

I've just observed the fact that in the majority of the screenshots i've seen of yours, there's always crates, sometimes looking really out of place. 0 Share this post Link to post
