esselfortium Posted September 22, 2013 The Empire State Building is such a Sunder ripoff. Freakin' architects. Man. 0 Share this post Link to post
Phobus Posted September 22, 2013 My attempt at an "Art Deco tech base reception area", what with all of the stucco and bare brick work. Could do with some overly pretentious artwork on the blank walls, perhaps... 0 Share this post Link to post
durian Posted September 22, 2013 Heh. It's pretty straightforward to knock up some reasonably faithful Mondrian-esque wall decor, if the occasion calls for it. 0 Share this post Link to post
mrthejoshmon Posted September 22, 2013 Slow progress, DAMN YOU GTA V! but I have started to attend to that mine area for the Habitat replacement I am doing. I have started to dick around with lighting, far shot and close ups: 0 Share this post Link to post
Velvetic Posted September 23, 2013 More progress at making the hub I'm actually quite satisfied with this bridge: http://i.imgur.com/SS8HbOa.png Factory entrance: http://i.imgur.com/L90YoIv.png Cave entrance: http://i.imgur.com/kDCbr3I.png Map layout on GZDoom Builder: http://i.imgur.com/08usUeI.jpg 0 Share this post Link to post
Rayziik Posted September 23, 2013 @KevinHEZ: Needs more lighting! But it otherwise looks exquisite. 0 Share this post Link to post

Marnetmar Posted September 23, 2013 Reminds me a lot of the Wrecked Ship from Super Metroid, Kevin! Keep posting more shots of this sexiness OR ELSE 0 Share this post Link to post
Ledillman Posted September 23, 2013 Some really good stuff there KevinHEZ :-) keep that cccool work! 0 Share this post Link to post
Velvetic Posted September 23, 2013 @Marnetmar: Maybe, maybe not, who knows? @Ledillman: Thanks, i'll keep posting when i make some more progress 0 Share this post Link to post
Walter confetti Posted September 23, 2013 That map is way TOO dark, kevin! Yes, we are in two telling you to add more lighting there... Anyway it's a cool map so far.... 0 Share this post Link to post
LigH Posted September 23, 2013 @ Phobus: Everyone can do plain darkness; thank you for a little diversity. 0 Share this post Link to post

I switched from water to nukage - seems to work better with the brown of the rock. Wow... I've got to say that that's incredibly eye-pleasing. 0 Share this post Link to post
mrthejoshmon Posted September 23, 2013 It's time to abuse TNT's animated computer textures! 0 Share this post Link to post
Tristan Posted September 23, 2013 I wish I could make areas look how I see them in my head, or have any idea how to go about making it seem like that with no problem at all. I'm currently about to delete my second attempt at the exit to MAP01 of teh twilite (MAP01 is still nowhere near finished) and try again. I can see the area in my head so clearly. I think this shot from Phobos is lurking in my head as I imagine it. There's only 1 platform though and the rail disappears into a super-dark tunnel, with various terrain effects (or maybe just semi-circular would be easier to do) and dynamic lighting spaced out to give this sort of effect but with the gaps between the lights bigger. And red. In my head it looks pretty stunning. In reality it looks like this. I mean. Come on. It looks nothing like how I envision it. EDIT: Kevin, its not too dark at all. Your shots are looking fine. 0 Share this post Link to post
schwerpunk Posted September 24, 2013 @ Eris: I think it would look a lot better if you faded the lighting from the brightness of the platform to the darkness of the tunnel. As it stands, the contrast is too great for what you're trying for. Also, it'll probably look a lot better with some detailing. For example, an archway or something might help make the visual transition. Maybe some pipes in the walls... i dunno 0 Share this post Link to post
45th Parrallel Posted September 24, 2013 @Eris that looks good, could do with more detail like others have said. It also kinda of reminds me of the first level of Soldier Of Fortune 0 Share this post Link to post
Fletcher` Posted September 24, 2013 Lets make some sweet music. :V http://i.imgur.com/rJ2yeJe.png More spells! http://i.imgur.com/3GYng6Z.png Completely revamped the stats page. Combined the distribution page with stats. http://i.imgur.com/fSLXlfT.png Moved the keys to the automap. http://i.imgur.com/E0mMPi0.png 0 Share this post Link to post
Springy Posted September 24, 2013 That new stats page looks fantastic! Did you create the weapon sprite in shot one? Looks like cacoward material to me so far, keep it up. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dco16 Posted September 24, 2013 Heavily WIP, in the spirit of a Castlevania clock tower: http://i43.tinypic.com/106fq6a.png http://i43.tinypic.com/2qxqng0.png The voxel gears spin, and with simple ACS, the player spins while on the gears. And then there are pain elementals and pits o' spikes because there's a certain amount of sadism that goes along with Castlevania. 0 Share this post Link to post
Shadow Hog Posted September 24, 2013 Just needs some DECORATE-d Medusa Heads, I guess. 0 Share this post Link to post
Springy Posted September 24, 2013 Got back to this that I started last week. Finished now. 0 Share this post Link to post
Tristan Posted September 24, 2013 Thanks guys, I'll flip it round so I have more space to work with, and a brick semi-circular tunnel instead of terrain. Assuming I have enough detailing ideas, I should actually make something presentable. Springy: Your-adopted-orphan-daughter's-son.wad? 0 Share this post Link to post

Nope, I like to call it (wait for it), Farting in the Bahamas. :P No, that's not the name, it's called Aerox now but it was originally going to be called F.I.T.B. 0 Share this post Link to post
durian Posted September 24, 2013 Looks like a neat little duel map, Springy. From looking at the shot, it seems you could maybe tidy up a few odd alignments, if you feel so inclined. 0 Share this post Link to post
Springy Posted September 24, 2013 Thanks for pointing those out Durian. I can't seem to fix the top one however (I adjust it but then the bottom becomes misaligned). EDIT: In the end, I replaced that with METAL2. 0 Share this post Link to post
