StoneFrog Posted June 9, 2008 Simple question. The text screens, such as after each episode in DOOM and periodically in DOOM II, conveying the story, how do I edit those? I looked in the WAD for some strings or anything on them, though found nothing. 0 Share this post Link to post
fraggle Posted June 9, 2008 You can't do it in Vanilla Doom. You have to use a dehacked patch. Other ports like Boom/ZDoom provide other ways of doing it. 0 Share this post Link to post
StoneFrog Posted June 9, 2008 D'oh! Forgot to post that. I'm using ZDoom and DoomBuilder with Doom in Hexen format. So I take it it's ACS related. 0 Share this post Link to post
SaladBadger Posted June 10, 2008 Actually you would do it in a MAPINFO patch. See more details at http://zdoom.org/wiki/MAPINFO A example followsmap MAP01 "My great map" levelnum 1 next MAP02 secretnext MAP02 sky1 SKY1 0 cluster 1 par 30 music D_RUNNIN clusterdef 1 flat FLOOR4_8 music D_READ_M exittext "This is a text screen" You could also use a .BEX patch, but that method is older 0 Share this post Link to post

StoneFrog Posted June 10, 2008 Yeah, I figured it out from the wiki on how to use the clusters. Thanks. 0 Share this post Link to post
