Is this project still being worked on? There hasn't been a new release in a while...

There are at least some people (like myself) with a willingness to contribute still, but it seems there might be an issue in so far as having someone on the other end to roll the stuff into a new release.

Yes it would be nice to have a more frequent release cycle, say every month or so. It might also help to generate more interest in the project.

People submit things occasionally, but I don't have much time nowadays to put in the work that Freedoom really needs :-(
