WS_FTP problem

Recommended Posts

I've been wanting to upload a bugfixed version of Technician's Base but in the last week I've been having massive problems trying to connect to the archives using WS_FTP. I do not have a broadband connection, maybe thats why because broadband is very expensive where I live, much more expensive than the US and A. Looks like I won't be releasing Whispers of Satan. It keeps quitting on me no matter what I do. Perhaps the settings have changed yet again?

Yeah, we've gotten other reports of issues. I mailed the archive admin about the problem (apparently the expired server is being too conservative on connections). You could upload it to Rapidshare or the like a to give someone with a more powerful connection the chance to upload it for you, for now.

I've sent the file to former 2002ado member Chris Hansen.

Try increasing the Connect Timeout to someting like 60 seconds - it worked for me with FileZilla.

Dosen't work. I need to find another program to do the uploading on.

If you don't like FileZilla - try My Internet Files. It's freeware but has to be registered and I've used it for a few years with my only complaint being no support for download resumption.

Why not just leave the upload in the transfer queue, then officially disconnect, then process the queue. It'll then use your only connection to the FTP with the file being sent. Don't forget the text file!

(s)ftp ftw

sftp wouldn't help at all... it's an entirely different protocol, in spite of its name.

Hey I managed to get in and upload the file. My lucky day. At least there is hope.
