How is it posible to create "smooth" objects?

How is it possible to create things like that with the Doom engine?

See this:




Is this some sort of a mapping trick or a feature of some map editor? Plz don't flame me of this is something most people know how to do but i don't.

Also, if that is a port only feature, then what ports support it?

Those are slopes.

ZDoom and derived support them, Vavoom as well, and the latest version of EDGE can use slopes for their look only (as far as collision and physics go, they're still flat). Probably others as well.
