It would be VERY useful if the Register link at the top changed to Log out... It seems that the only Log out link I can find is on the front Doomworld forums main page... and it's right at the bottom of the page. All other pages there's none.


I was using a public computer and wanted to log out... and depesperately couldn't find it...

Seriously, I had to go looking for it the other day for the same reason. I don't think I've had to log out for more than three years...

If you normally only browse from your own computer, this isn't an issue of course.

But having used public terminals quite often, sometimes of the coin-op and limited-functions type, I agree that it can be quite a pain to have to navigate back to the main forums page in order to log off before the time runs out.

So a log-off button available from anywhere would be useful indeed.

Which would log you out of other stuff you're logged into. Presumably you could access the cookies folder and delete the specific cookie, which seems more work than going back to the front page of the forum, if the public terminal even allows one to access that folder.

Most of the public terminals I've used have been configured smart enough to reboot and clear all data after every user finishes or their session expires.

Assuming whoever administers the computer hasn't disabled the option - Tools/Delete Browsing History/Delete all - then close the browser.

I wouldn't mind seeing more log-out links.

there is a logout link next to your user name when you are composing a new post, whether it be a new thread or a reply. easy way if you don't feel like goin to the bottom of the main page is hitting the new blog link at the top. it's on every page.
