tatsurd-cacocaco Posted October 30, 2008 I use windows2000 now when playing Doom. (My PC is dual boot with XP) Certainly Doom (also Heretic and Hexen) can be executed without Dosbox. However, sound don't work... 0 Share this post Link to post
Squonk Posted October 30, 2008 To play doom, XP is even better than 2k, since you have no slowmotion. And you can get a crappy sound using cli2nop. 0 Share this post Link to post
tatsurd-cacocaco Posted October 30, 2008 I always play Doom with Dosbox, so the sound work and I have no slowmotion. This is no problem even if I don't use XP, isn't it? Or, are there any problem in case of using Dosbox on win2000? 0 Share this post Link to post

If it seems to be working OK, then it probably is OK. If you are worried about inadvertently getting a degree of unintended slow motion, then time how long, say, a minute of game-time lasts in comparison with real-world time, or a minute of game-time in some other set-up. If you mean, would the very fact of using Dosbox under Win2000 render your demos invalid in and of itself, then no, none of the Doom community demos sites have such a rule. 0 Share this post Link to post
