Monster Death Trigger

I was wondering how it would be possible to make am onsters death be a trigger. Kind of like Map07 of Doom2.wad, Dead Simple, where the middle step raises when all the Arachnatrons are killed.

With ZDoom it's possible to make a script like this:

#include "zcommon.acs"

script 1 ENTER
   while(Thingcount(0,monstertag)) > 0
       Whateveryouwanttodo; //i mean, you can put any action you want here.

Ah, I dunno how to do scripting.
Can someone tell me where/how/what do I do?
Sorry to be a bother, I just picked up mapping again and I want to make a really good map. But it's gonna require a lot of skills I've never used.
Alternatively, if someone can point me in a direction to where all these questions are already answered, that would sit well with me :)
Of course, I can't ask detailed questions, but that's fine!

Keep in mind though that this tutorial is a bit old and does not cover many newer aspects of the engine. In case you don't find what you are looking for, just ask (either here or at the ZDoom forums.)
