I keep on getting this classmates.com popup ad with a distorted pic of a little girl "who made you to eat a bug in 3rd grade" over and over again.
AGH! KILL IT!

Hmm.... *Right Click-Block all images from server*....

Sigh, that's the only Mozilla's advantage over Opera so far (apart from unicode support)

"Allow Javascript scripts to open windows by themselves"->OFF is useful too.

I have noticed that there have been an assload of pop-up ads recently. They really pissed me off. I guess that they realised no one ever clicks on their banners. But his is really fukin agrivating. I get an average of one every 3 pages now.

If you use IE, put mediamgr.ugo.com in your restricted sites list

tools->internet options->security->restricted sites->sites...

bingo, no more pop-ups on DW

I dunno what Ling wants to do about the pop-ups just yet--they are forced upon us by UGO, looks like

Why are they all of a sudden here?

Check the main page.
Ling says it's because the bills have to be paid.

Pop up banners. Unsolicited email. Virii. Gamespy. I'm tellin' ya, there are some truly evil motherfuckers out there trying to ruin the internet for everyone.

Edit....

Humm. I've been using Pow! from Analogx.com to kill all my popups for a good long while. The thing is, you have to tell Pow! which ones to eat. So I was browsing through it's list... and here are some more sites you can add to your IE restricted list like Arioch said.

http://ad.doubleclick.net
http://adroar.com
http://ads.x10.com
http://www.flowgo.com
http://www.rankyou.com
fastclick.net

I just added fastclick.net in there, without the full address. Fastclick.net uses different subdomain names (media10.fastclick.net, media22.fastclick.net) to launch their aggressive and generally PATHETIC Internet beg-for-money adds. I hope it works to catch them all. =)

Better yet, just place them all into the "restricted list" using their domains.

x10.com
adroar.com

etc.

Hey Arioch!! =)

Okay so I took your advice and I went back to that menu on IE6 to remove the subdomain and http:// and when I got there my fastclick.net looked like this:

*.fastclick.net

As soon as I saw that *. I was in love. =)

So, FYI, here's the list I have right now. Everyone using IE should do this too:

*.adroar.com
*.affiliatetarget.com
*.doubleclick.net
*.fastclick.net
*.flowgo.com
*.internetfuel.com
*.popupmoney.com
*.popupsponsor.com
*.rankyou.com
*.x10.com
http://mediamgr.ugo.com

Arioch's my hero.

Oh, and I think servedby.advertising.com is the annoying classmates one.

no, it's basicly just placing the directory in the www place instead of having it after the .com/ so it's a shorter url.
