In some Doompatcher thread, it was mentioned that the same IWADs were released with different dates, so a date check is probably a bad idea.

If you saw the images in your IWAD using XWE, this shouldn't be the case. but if you do have a pwad with porn intermission graphics in your skins folder, the intermission graphics will be used when you play the game.

You don't have the original iwad Threexile? I remember having to bid on like 12 different copies of the Doom CE before finally winning.:P I now keep the discs on hand in case something happens.

It is amazing how many people "lose" their copy of the IWAD. A quick check along my shelf and I seem to have 6 original CDs with Doom2 on them in various forms (Doom2, Anthology etc) plus a set of floppies and (after a quick search) apparently I have 19 copies of doom2.wad on my HD. o_O

Of course, years ago, I did lend a friend my Hexen disk and box. Then he moved away and I lost my copy of the game. For years I existed with nothing more than the backups then eventually I thought "this is silly" and got a copy off of Amazon for not much more than the price of the postage.
