Lüt Posted January 3, 2002 What exactly does going to church have to do with being a wimp? 0 Share this post Link to post
sleepy_boy Posted January 3, 2002 Church teaches you not to fight, to spread the word of god, and to do unto others as they would do unto you. Like the cold fusion theroy, it sounds like it could work, but is very hard to acheive. 0 Share this post Link to post
Lüt Posted January 3, 2002 Well, it teaches you not to be a jackass if you know how to fight, I guess. I don't see where you get that it says to let people get away with taking advantage of you. If you wanna get into Biblical stories and stuff: the men of God were never weak people. Most of them could (and did) kick a lot of ass. Thing was, they didn't walk around with a toughguy mentality and expect an asskissing everywhere they went. That's all I get out of the "be nice and courteous" aspect: don't start it, and don't "finish it" unless it's the only available option. Doesn't mean you have to take shit from anybody. There's plenty of Christian people into martial arts, boxing, wrestling, bodybuilding, in the military (even as drill instructors) and stuff like that. I can identify because my parents have a similar "don't get provoked and use violence no matter what" attitude, but that's their own personal point of view, not a result of church or anything. The Bible itself doesn't teach that. Heh, this is probably gonna end up in R&P soon :P 0 Share this post Link to post
dsm Posted January 3, 2002 Ummm sleepy_boy, I think it'd be best for you to try and reply intelligently to other people's posts instead of posting stupid/meaningless/useless topics. I know that I love to discuss meaningful topics, but lately, too many useless topics/posts have appeared, making it difficult to reply intelligenly. The mods are beginning to get tired of this idiocy (especially Lüt) and they have just been given means to deal with any annoyance in a manner, which I'm not sure are pleasant for the victims. So unless you want more trouble than you've already got, I suggest that you think carefully about your posts before posting, try to avoid that you annoy people or just plain simply keep quiet. 0 Share this post Link to post
Crendowing Posted January 3, 2002 They made me go to church as a child...Aw, that's too bad... /me pats Sleepy_Boy on the head Seriously, I pity you. 0 Share this post Link to post
DooMBoy Posted January 3, 2002 Hey, sleepy_boy, how'd you get your postcount knocked down to -84? I must of missed it. Anyway don't worry, just keep posting, and don't do anything stupid and you'll have your original postcount back in no time! :) Not sure about the LOSER title though.... 0 Share this post Link to post
Submerge Posted January 3, 2002 There's plenty of Christian people into martial arts, boxing, wrestling, bodybuilding, in the military (even as drill instructors) and stuff like that. Don't forget Boxing Nuns I never go to church, though I wouldn't mind doing so every now and then. 0 Share this post Link to post
dsm Posted January 3, 2002 They made me go to church as a child...Aw, that's too bad... /me pats Sleepy_Boy on the head Seriously, I pity you. Why do you pity hi for that? Getting forced to go to church as a child makes you a more disciplined person, which is a good thing later in your life. 0 Share this post Link to post
dsm Posted January 3, 2002 Religion is the drug of the people. Please elaborate (preferably in the "religion and politics forum). 0 Share this post Link to post
nxn Posted January 3, 2002 that had to have been the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Drugs actually make you feel good, and are a worth while thing. Religion is just bullshit. 0 Share this post Link to post
Red_Warrior Posted January 3, 2002 I was dragged to church on three ocassions.... they stated that video games in general were evil, but especially singled out Sega. *Sighs* and they were really competitive with neighboring churches and said (well, -wanted- to say) that they all sucked. They made no friends with me... Figures, the reason I got dragged in was so my ex-father could try to meet women. Bastard. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bane Posted January 3, 2002 I believe in God, still I fight, I don't go to church, I play games that has some satanic aspects, I visit pornsites, I watch horror films, I don't spread His words and I do bad things. And I'm NOT joking. 0 Share this post Link to post

Better to be atheist, I'd say...then you can do whatever you want! :) 0 Share this post Link to post

dsm Posted January 3, 2002 "Discipline" is the reason why this is still a bad world to live in. Discipline teaches us to behave properly. If there was no discipline, everyone would walk around and do what they wanted - including stealing or comitting other crimes. That's why I dislike undisciplined people. 0 Share this post Link to post

It's like lobotomy. Maybe it's nice, maybe it's even a "good thing later in life", but no thanks. 0 Share this post Link to post
