Csonicgo Posted August 4, 2009 Yes, it's August 4, Obama's Birthday! And the Birthers, not wanting to miss a chance to celebrate, pulled out all the retard stops. Orly Taitz, or as most call her, Oily Taints, has "released a copy of what purports to be a Kenyan certification of birth" for President Obama. The document reads to have been produced by the "Republic of Kenya" on February 17, 1964. But Kenya wasn't even a republic until December 12 of that year. Oops! And to make this freakshow even more hilarious, it has been revealed that NO Kenyan birth certificates were issued before 1963. None. Also it's a forgery of an Australian birth certificate. Oops again! And the fun doesn't stop there! You can Make your own Kenyan birth certificate with the original Aussie cert as a template! the fun just never ends! I wonder what the bottom line to all this shit is. could it be... Naaah. 0 Share this post Link to post

fraggle Posted August 4, 2009 Obama seems to be a rather polarising figure. From what I've seen (looking on as a foreigner from outside the US) some people seem to adore him while others absolutely despise him and want to see him dead. I guess race is probably a factor in it, but probably also the apparently intense Republican/Democrat rivalry is part of it as well? Sad to say, and I hope it doesn't happen, but I wonder how long it will be before the nutcases start trying to take him out? 0 Share this post Link to post
Ralphis Posted August 4, 2009 It's probably because most Americans are tired of being taxed out the ass and we've more or less been told that taxes are going to go up even more. Of course, I don't speak for all Americans. Some like having the money they work for taken away from them for various bullshit programs that will likely never help or affect them, especially if they're in the middle class or above. 0 Share this post Link to post

Maes Posted August 4, 2009 Obama's name must sound like an odious, alien, distasteful name, that just does not inspire confidence. Not at all like such clean, crisp, honest, American names as Bush, Nixon, Kissinger, Cheney, McCarthy etc. (blatantly stolen and adapted from Yossarian's description in Catch-22) 0 Share this post Link to post

Dco16 Posted August 4, 2009 For those outside of America who are baffled by this: Obama isn't particularly polarizing, it's just that the minority of people who hate him (birthers, republicans, self-described "libertarians") are very loud about it and very dedicated in their hatred. These people are insane, but it looks like they're dying out and it only took a catastrophic administration to do it, although it is my opinion that Republicans, who believe that government can't run anything ever, purposely fuck up when in power just to prove it. 0 Share this post Link to post

Luckily other, red-blooded (NOT the commie kind) American patriots protected this great country from stalinist urchins like you. Sieg heil! 0 Share this post Link to post

Sharessa Posted August 4, 2009 This whole Birther thing is flat-out racism. These people just can't stand having a nigger for a president. No way some monkey's going ton rule us! They should just fucking deal with it. Also, during Bush's administration I feared the Republicans were going to turn us into a one-party system by scaring people away from voting for Democrats. Now I fear they're going to turn us into a one-party system by shooting themselves in the foot. It's amazing how the sensible side of their party is LITERALLY being drowned out and booed off the stage by these wackos they've been stirring up for the last decade or so. It's become the party of insane shut-ins, or at least that's what they're looking like to the outside world. exp(x) said:I'm in favor of socialism. Tax me out the ass and give me health care. Agreed. And one more thing: HERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE YOU MORONS! IT'S BEEN REVIEWED BY SEVERAL PARTIES UP-CLOSE INCLUDING THOSE WHO DECIDE IF THE PRESIDENT IS LEGITIMATELY ALLOWED TO TAKE OFFICE. NOW FUCK OFF! Oh, and it's also odd how the whole birth certificate thing was originally started by Hilary Clinton's campaign. Awkward... 0 Share this post Link to post

Patrick Posted August 4, 2009 Honestly I dont get what the big hype about Obama is. No matter who in in office, they will always find some way to fuck the people in the ass. Our government isn't run by the people anymore, so I don't really give a shit. Obama==Bush==Reagan==Clinton==Ford==Nixon ... it's all the same to me. 0 Share this post Link to post
John Smith Posted August 4, 2009 Honestly there are plenty of legitimate criticisms of Obama's presidency thus far that the opposition could be pointing out. Going about shrieking how he's not really American and all this crap just makes you look like a fucking loon. If you want the country to change then talk sense, otherwise the sane population will look upon you as the spittle flecked genetic rejects you are. Also, Dan is right. The birther movement is simply a disguise for rednecks who cant stand that a nigger is president. And add me into the socialism pile. Besides, we have socialized police and fire, why cant we have socialized medicine. 0 Share this post Link to post
arrrgh Posted August 4, 2009 I like living in Australia. Here, we're so left wing that our Liberal party is considered right-wing :P 0 Share this post Link to post

myk Posted August 4, 2009 arrrgh said: I like living in Australia. Here, we're so left wing that our Liberal party is considered right-wing :P That might just be semantics :p Over here the equivalent of US conservatives and neoconservatives are, roughly speaking, liberals and neoliberals. Their "liberality" refers to their tendency to want a "free market." The term conservative is also used for them, though. The general idea of "western liberalism" more or less combines social liberalism with economic liberalism; to put it one way a "bourgeois sentiment" which tends to be secular and somewhat progressive socially and market-oriented economically. In practice, a split occurs between the social and economic aspects, hence the label can stick on one side or the other due to other circumstances. 0 Share this post Link to post
Visplane Overflow Posted August 4, 2009 Obama has barely done anything yet - all I've seen him do is appear on talk shows and pose for magazine covers. Anyway, sooner or later we're going to have to face the truth - as many people that voted against Obama simply because he's black (or a close approximation) voted for Obama simply because he's black (or young, I won't exclude those people from this), disregarding any qualifications or aspirations he may have had. They're both equally racist, or at least equally senseless. There has never been a president anyone has been 100% satisfied with. For example George Bush - a good man with honest intentions that accidentally fucked things up a little and we have people running around saying he's the antichrist or something, which is a position that I believe Obama stole recently. Also, Patrick probably has the correct attitude about this. 0 Share this post Link to post

Bank Posted August 4, 2009 Visplane Overflow said:You can have good intentions and still be a dumbass. I was taking more issue with the words "accidentally" and "a little." I do not think that incompetence protects you from responsibility; and decisions made are decisions made regardless of intention; which I could also take issue with because I do not honestly believe all of his intentions were just. But, as to Obama, I'd like to see him do something before I sing his praises. Potential is nothing without action. 0 Share this post Link to post

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL For the record I thought he was a terrible president before the Iraq War, before 9/11, before his 180 days of vacation in his first year, before he was even president. So I don't see which one of these or the multitude of other issues I have with him is his "little mistake". He was a terrible person and his administration did more to ruin this country than any international terrorist organization ever could. 0 Share this post Link to post
