Hellbent Posted August 8, 2009 So I only once stumbled upon this book after my childhood (maybe I was a teenager or early twenties) and I remember thinking: how come I never knew about this book as a kid, kinda cool.... Well, as you may know, it's been made into a film. Many people automatically think that children stories are just for children, but I believe such a story is important for everyone at any age. I don't feel like going into my reasons here, but what do you think? Are such 'children' stories really only worthwhile for kids to see? New Trailer what part of this url do I put in yt brackets to embed the video here? It's the old trailer of the film. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--N9klJXbjQ 0 Share this post Link to post
Nomad Posted August 8, 2009 You should only need the video ID; the numbers, letters, and symbols that appear after "/watch?v=". I'm interested in seeing this film myself, however I always have the sneaking suspicion that they're going to rape my childhood. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bucket Posted August 8, 2009 I never read the book so there will be no raping of my childhood. That said, it seems like an interesting movie and I'll probably go watch. 0 Share this post Link to post

Kaiser Posted August 8, 2009 Yeah, I am definitely going to see that as well as Alice in Wonderland.. 0 Share this post Link to post
Coopersville Posted August 9, 2009 This film should be seen by everyone of all ages. Spike Jonze + nostalgia ftw 0 Share this post Link to post
pavera Posted August 10, 2009 My dad used to read the book to me every night so this movie better not ruin my childhood memories by being bad. It probably won't... looks charming enough. 0 Share this post Link to post
Super Jamie Posted August 10, 2009 Never read the book, though the preview seems a bit disturbing. Here in cinemas they're showing some 3D CGI movie about a girl who ends up in a fantasy land of dolls where they want to remove her eyeballs and sew buttons in their place. Maybe giving children nightmares is the new thing. Tim Burton's Alice will have big shoes to fill. I'll always see the 1951 Disney cartoon in my mind. I thought the 1999 film was disturbing, poorly themed, slow and full of annoying actors. Out of interest, has anyone else seen (or even heard of) the 1976 Alice in Wonderland porn movie? It's pretty terrible :P 0 Share this post Link to post
