Juiche Posted August 20, 2009 I want edit Doom 1 and 2 maps on doom builder 2. But in "skulltag (doom in hexen format)". how I can convert doom format to hexen format? 0 Share this post Link to post
magicsofa Posted August 20, 2009 I don't think you want to convert anything to hexen format. The Doom in Hexen format part is for adding advanced features to doom maps. I think if you had Doom in Doom format, you will still get skulltag features, but you won't get to do things like action specials and tagging things and so forth. So, you don't need to do anything - selecting doom in hexen format just means you are using a doom IWAD but with more advanced features like generalized specials. 0 Share this post Link to post

Kyka Posted August 21, 2009 Ok. So I have tried running zdwadconv and I can't seem to make it work. All I can make it do is put out a txtlog that says "could not open zdwadconv." any thoughts? 0 Share this post Link to post
Kappes Buur Posted August 22, 2009 From the text file: Usage: zdwadconv <source.wad> <output.wad> Everything must be in the same folder, zdwadconv and the source.wad. I always run it from a batch file named convert.bat, also in that folder, with a line like thiszwadconv RTH2.WAD zdRTH2.WAD 0 Share this post Link to post

Super Jamie Posted August 22, 2009 You don't need to convert your IWAD. To convert an existing map you're working on, just hit F2 in Boom Builder, change format and fix any lines whose linedef action changes. If it's a big map, use zwadconv as above. 0 Share this post Link to post

Thanks for pointing this out. :) Super Jamie said:You don't need to convert your IWAD. You can't do this when converting to ZDoom (Doom in Hexen). You cant open the maps. (At least I can't.) And yes, the 5 maps I need to convert. 250k sidedefs. Big maps. 0 Share this post Link to post
CodeImp Posted August 22, 2009 I do not recommend changing map formats through Doom Builder directly, because it is not meant for this purpose (it also warns you not to do this when you try). 0 Share this post Link to post
