sky windows

Hey guys,

i am working on a 12 level mod that will take place in a spaceship, and I am confused on how to make a window looking out into space.

I followed a tutorial that I found, but what ends up happening is that when the player looks at the window, there is a HOM effect where the skybox should be showing, and if I no clip into the sector where the sky textures are used, I can see my sky.

In the doom builder 2 3d mode, there seems to be a missing texture on the window also.

i am using GZdoom 1.2.01 to power my game btw...

Try making the ceiling at the floor and leave the upper texture.

What do you mean?

Make the ceiling at the same height as the floor?

On the sector that has your starry sky texture outside of the window, make the floor the same height as the "window sill" and make the ceiling the same height as the floor.

I just tried that, and I am still having the same problem.

If you lower the ceiling all the way to the floor, you'll just get HOM. Raise the ceiling up 1 unit and it should magically work.

If the 1 unit of wall being visible when looked at from above is unacceptable (as it sometimes is), here's a visual example I just cooked up of how to easily avoid that problem:
