sparerib1968 Posted September 13, 2009 A great soundtrack to listen to while testing my map. Got your own favorite? Comments? 0 Share this post Link to post
Technician Posted September 13, 2009 I love this film. It has a very diverse soundtrack. Good choice sir. 0 Share this post Link to post
esselfortium Posted September 13, 2009 I listen to a lot of different music, when mapping and otherwise, and usually go through obsessive phases with listening to one artist for a while. Some of the usual suspects are Porcupine Tree, Boards of Canada, Radiohead, The Decemberists, Beck, Sigur Ros, the pillows, Moody Blues, Junior Boys, Opeth... http://www.last.fm/user/esselfortium 0 Share this post Link to post
Sporku Posted September 13, 2009 Tangerine Dream is amazing to listen to when searching for mapping inspiration, especially their earlier, more atmospheric/ambient albums. Then again, they're pretty amazing to listen to no matter what you're doing. Aside from that, pretty much anybody on my list of top artists. 0 Share this post Link to post

Creaphis Posted September 13, 2009 Heavy Metal's music is so campy yet just so satisfying. Good choice sir. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted September 13, 2009 I don't know why I like the Heavy Metal soundtrack so much. I'm not a huge fan of late 70s/early 80s hard rock, but it seems like they put together a best of of that stuff. It also helps that I love the movie and it was at one point one of about 5 CDs I owned (yeah, it was one of my first). 0 Share this post Link to post
Snakes Posted September 13, 2009 What I listened to during my first go-round was some hip-hop actually. More playful stuff to make sure I had fun with what I was doing. Redman, A Tribe Called Quest, and Jurassic 5 were all prevalent. And whoa- Moody Blues? I definitely spun that at some point! A Question of Balance, I think... that makes me smile. 0 Share this post Link to post
ArmouredBlood Posted September 13, 2009 I was searching for midis a while ago and stumbled on this guy's website: http://www.angelfire.com/punk4/knightriderofdoom/midis.html The stuff he composed is pretty good, and the other midis on there are very well arranged compared to some other midis I've found. Yes it's midi but if it sounds good it doesn't matter what format it's in -.- 0 Share this post Link to post
Maes Posted September 13, 2009 Bucket said:Ambient, usually. Or prog rock. It took me a while to understand that this was about progressive rock. For some reason I thought that it was programmers' rock, a special variety of rock for computer programmers and the such :-p 0 Share this post Link to post
pavera Posted September 13, 2009 I'm usually listening to whatever album(s) I've been getting into at that point in time. At the moment it's the new Raekwon, Porcupine Tree, and Megadeth. 0 Share this post Link to post

Mechadon Posted September 13, 2009 I'm going through a Biosphere/ambient phase at the moment. But I'm partial to anything IDM and whatever else tickles my fancy. Here's my obligatory last.fm user page link. 0 Share this post Link to post
