Check that thread out out. Gusta is currently working on it and has made some progress lately.

Although it is a little bit out of date, there should be enough information/screenshots to help you speculate more.

I'm sure the music will be some sort of mixture, deriving from wads and iwads, like the first..

The progress goes well, man, I am still not dead :-)
You can expect similar style as in ks1, modern-oldschool maps, various themes, few hopefully unexpected things and hardcore gameplay intended for aggresive play. 30 maps should run with doom2.exe/chocolate-doom. 2 secret maps are "limit removing".
Maybe even that homepage will be updated soon :-)

But I think you should do something a bit different with KS2. Loved your Plutonia 2 maps.
