Platforms moving horizontally

The problem is one of physics mostly - objects do not transfer momentum to objects that are standing on top of them, and adding it would prove very difficult if my intuition is correct.

maybe wind. But if you really want to do this. You're better of using 3d floors and a lot of hacks.

In this thread logicdeluxe made a polyobject-moved 3d platform, if it helps.

EDIT: I thought about polyobjects used as horizontal crushers for a while after this thread but my zdoom-ese is at the beginner level.

EDGE can do this, using a RIDE_FRICTION setting in DDF. Using RIDE_FRICTION=100% would give an object that would carry the player properly (never slipping off).

They've added this feature to SRB2, but it's a heavily modified engine and I have no idea how it works.
