PSX Doom music

hi..

i have made some progress in hacking the psx doom music. my aim is to emulate the sequencing data and the psx sound chip. is anyone still interested in this subject who would like to contribute?

Depends on what kind of help you need. I have access to the samples used to make the tracks if you need them.

Strange you brought this up, I am trying to do the same for doom64's music.

I'd be interested in the outcome of both projects.

If you own the PSX Doom disk, you can access the original samples of the music with a program like PSound. It's quite interesting how the sound chip can manipulate these single sounds and make such good ambient music with them. :)

Also, if you need mp3's of the music, you can check out the Doom Depot website mentioned in the FAQ.

hi,

i have made steps to isolate the sound engine from the game. if anyone has experience of the psx's processor (r3000), or has tried to debug/reverse-engineer psx doom, this would really help me.
