First you have to identify the "reviewer". While votes and comments are IP logged, if the poster has a dynamic IP address or uses an anonymizing proxy, they're harder to track down.

Well, it may be not needed to fix the author of post down to real name and precise address.

I can't control whole world of people out there, it will be enough to position such a case as not eligible right here. It is already done by deleting, and all involved witnessed that this is a bad mannered behavior.

Good criticism makes wads better, cheers encourage wadmakers make wads and this is good. Bad manner reviews frustrate wadmakers and this is bad.

Leo Sosnine, you got it down packed what a review should be. Good reviews make wads better and you are damn straight correct. I also agree with you, whoever did make that offensive statement should be punished... severely. Unfortunately, we don't know who it is but if they strike again, I'm sure to use that report abuse thing.

P.S.: Don't worry, I'm trying to make my wads better - Trial and error is helping me figure out what bugs to fix.

As long as you are not complaining about non-offensive negative reviews, I'm all for criticism. Hell, I've had some of my own making a soulsphere replacement with the Awesomeface used on snark/troll/satire sites. I dealt with it and moved on.

The moment you start bitching about or even reporting constructive criticism like "This WAD sucks, it has nothing but ripped resources", that is where I draw my line and side with the reviewer if his/her thoughts are attempted to be silenced by a butthurt author (not saying you are in this case).

WildWeasel, I don't think I missed the point at all. Several issues were brought to light before I entered the thread, and I chose to respond only to the ones I thought were important. What did you have in mind?

Isn't it amazing how this thread with all its various tangents and misunderstandings has stemmed from alando1 getting an offensive review (which has been rightly taken down as far as I can see) and then for no obvious reason seemingly (notice the word 'seemingly' before I get yelled at) gotten the hump with blunt yet valid criticizms of his wads due to their stolen content and -in some peoples eyes - sloppy game play.
He is lucky to even have reviews to see what he is doing right and wrong. I have a WAD up on idgames with only 4 reviews, three just saying that the wad is ok, but not much else and one saying something along the lines of 'one star due to zdoomisms, should work in all source ports' when I specifically put that it had only been tested in Zdoom and I was unsure how other ports would take it.
But anyway back to my original point, if you get criticizms don't whine and bitch about it (unless there is a specific reason to show that it had obviously been targeted to insult and offend), take it on the chin and try to do better next time.

No, because it wasn't a review at all. It was a highly personal attack which had no focus on the wad.

This thread was mostly pointless before it was even made. Just fill out the form and push the "Report Review Abuse" button and be done with it. Bellyaching here certainly doesn't get anything removed faster.
