Doom Marine Posted December 23, 2009 http://store.steampowered.com/ I just scored Braid for $2.49. 0 Share this post Link to post
destx Posted December 23, 2009 I got Zombie shooter 2 for $2.50 and Far Cry for $5. So many insane deals, I dread to see tomorrow's sale. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted December 23, 2009 Holy fuckballs. There goes my money...again. 0 Share this post Link to post
Lizardcommando Posted December 23, 2009 Man, I'm really tempted to get GTA4 since it's $7.49 right now, but is it really worth it? How are the controls on the PC compared to the XBox 360? I didn't really like the driving controls for the 360. 0 Share this post Link to post
Ninjalah Posted December 23, 2009 http://store.steampowered.com/sub/2546/ Holy hell I just came. 0 Share this post Link to post
Nomad Posted December 23, 2009 I caved in and got a few things myself. Indigo Prophecy, Braid, Mirror's Edge, Star Wars Jedi Knight Collection, and Red Faction. Not too bad for $25! 0 Share this post Link to post
AveryMaurice Posted December 23, 2009 Thanks for the heads-up. I just bought STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl for 1.99 (originally 19.99). Only thing that sucks is that I can't install it right now because "Steams servers are too busy to handle my request." damnit. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted December 24, 2009 Id Software megapack for less than $25 right now. I just bought it myself. It includes Keen (I think all of them), Wolf 3d, Spear of Destiny, RTCW, Doom 1-3, Final Doom, Master Levels, Resurrection of Evil, Quake 1-3 and their expansions, Heretic, Hexen, Deathkings, and Hexen 2. I had Doom 1+2 and most of the Quake games, but it was worth getting for all the stuff I didn't have. 0 Share this post Link to post
geekmarine Posted December 24, 2009 Aww crap, I'm gonna be broke by the end of this. Already picked up two Star Wars games plus Serious Sam HD, and that's just the beginning. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kirby Posted December 24, 2009 I had seen these deals last night. I have low money in my bank account. I won't get paid until two weeks from now. I shall be broke by tomorrow morning for not restraining myself from these deals O_______________O 0 Share this post Link to post
Csonicgo Posted December 25, 2009 I need tuition money, dammit! I can't buy these! 0 Share this post Link to post

Sporku Posted December 25, 2009 These sales are so absurd that it's killing their distribution servers. I bought a game and have been getting "Server too busy to handle all this shit" error messages for the last 24 hours. 0 Share this post Link to post
TheeXile Posted December 26, 2009 Audiosurf, World of Goo, Braid. $10. 0 Share this post Link to post
Darkman 4 Posted December 26, 2009 These deals are amazing. I'd say I've gotten about 10 games, counting the iD Superpack as one game; in the past three days. 0 Share this post Link to post

Udderdude Posted December 26, 2009 I caved in and bought Prince of Persia Sands of Time for $5. :X 0 Share this post Link to post
Craigs Posted December 27, 2009 I was going to hide my wallet but it's gone now. That fuckin Huy stole it. 0 Share this post Link to post
caco_killer Posted December 27, 2009 They marked Torchlight down to five freaking bucks today. : ( 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted December 27, 2009 I'd buy Torchlight if I didn't already own it. Nothing interesting on today's list. Dragon Age probably won't run on my computer, and there's nothing in the Star Wars pack that interest me which I don't have. 0 Share this post Link to post

If that ever happens to you just change the servers steam is downloading from. Go here: http://store.steampowered.com/stats/content/ and click on the "View individual server statistics" button. Find a server region that is some what close to you thats not busy. Then: Start Steam Go to File > Settings > Downloads tab Under Download region, select a different but relatively close region. Try launching or installing the game once more It should download for you and some times quicker. Just make sure to revert back to your server region after you download your game or update one. Worked like a charm every time I did it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Shaikoten Posted December 27, 2009 I bought GTA IV along with Mirror's Edge. Was happy with Mirror's Edge, and not so much with GTA, mainly because of the layers of proprietary matchmaking software and the fucking abomination against humanity that is Windows Live gaming. Apparently I need a Live account to save my game? And when I tried to get one, it was like "HOOK UP YOUR XBOX, LOL." I don't want PC gaming to turn into XBox 360, thank you very much. But it seems inevitable at this point. 0 Share this post Link to post

negke Posted December 28, 2009 Yes, those are some excellent deals. I was (and still am) pretty tempted to even get games that I normally wouldn't when they're cheap, but so far I managed to resist quite well. The price parity helped. Only got Mirror's Edge and Beyond Good and Evil so far, but didn't get Zombie Shooter Pack and Zombie Driver despite initial interest because ultimately they seem like games that quickly wear out after the first few levels. Shaikoten said: Apparently I need a Live account to save my game? You have to install those additional programs and create an offline profile (at least for one of them, Games for Windows I think), but you don't need to have an online account or login every time. When starting the game, there's a "skip login" option. 0 Share this post Link to post
