Swec Posted January 3, 2010 Hello. I F***ed up my map yesterday :( Invalid data encountered for texture :RW16_2.bmp Unknown patch RW16_2 in texture PANRED Texture PANRED is left without any patches Invalid data encountered for texture :RW16_2.bmp Unknown patch RW16_2 in texture PANRED Texture PANRED is left without any patches Unknown patch BOSFA0 in texture A-BROWN4 Unknown patch RW16_2 in texture PANRED Texture PANRED is left without any patches Unknown patch BOSFA0 in texture TCEMWL13 Texture TCEMWL13 is left without any patches Execution could not continue. Bad PNAMES and/or texture directory: PNAMES has 547 entries, but TCMPWL01 wants to use entry 548. How to fix this? I was playing around in XWE and i did't notice the fault when it was to late and i took backup later that day. If i go back to a later backup then i lost tons of work. EDIT: I locked around in the /dir/ and http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/9610/wadd.jpg those files is older but still up todate and there is no wrong in those files but how do i access Backup1 etc? The Swec.WAD has this texture problem so that one i cant use. but the Bckup1 2 3 eg can i somehow start from them? 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted January 3, 2010 In order to access the backups you first have to rename them - preferably sequentially - backup1 could become Swec_1.wad, backup2 becomes Swec_2.wad and etc. XWE's .bak files could be given a similar treatment. 0 Share this post Link to post
Swec Posted January 3, 2010 thx. Quite simple :P But i have one problem left.. Unknown patch BOSFA0 in texture A-BROWN4 Unknown patch BOSFA0 in texture TCEMWL13 Texture TCEMWL13 is left without any patches Execution could not continue. Bad PNAMES and/or texture directory: PNAMES has 547 entries, but TCMPWL01 wants to use entry 548. How to fix/remove this?? 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted January 3, 2010 Hard to tell without seeing at least the PNAMES and TEXTURE1 lumps. Can you upload the wad somewhere - with or without maps? 0 Share this post Link to post
Swec Posted January 3, 2010 It crash if i trying to play it. What lumps do you talk about? hmm. I can se if i have the problem if i make a copy of the wad and erase the map and then try. EDIT: The problem is still there so it is not the map but something else. I think i have F***ed up my Doom2.wad :( OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build 2600) Service Pack 3 M_LoadDefaults: Load system defaults. GreyGhost Posted January 4, 2010 Swec said:What lumps do you talk about? The PNAMES and TEXTURE1 lumps in Swec.wad, which suspect are the source of the problem. Looking through the error log - I can't find BOSFA0 in any of the texture lumps and suspect it's a sprite. TCMPWL01 is from Too Much Brown and either hasn't been added to PNAMES or something else was deleted, leaving it with an invalid entry number. Can you upload Swec.wad somewhere for examination? The lump count for Doom2.wad looks OK, try running it on it's own and post an error log if it's busted. 0 Share this post Link to post
Swec Posted January 4, 2010 i copied my map to a new DB2 File and it works (changed to Doom in hexen to instead of Doom 2) But now i have a new texture problem :P Some textures is now black and have a red X in the 'status bar' some problem that some other Textures Wad's override and give me a fault? //Martin 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted January 5, 2010 Those red X's are DB2's way of complaining about missing textures - caused by the map being separated from it's texture lump. ZDoom tends to use ASHWALL2 or something similar to paper over missing textures in-game. The texture lump needs to be repaired or replaced. 0 Share this post Link to post
