ACS Timer to stop player control?

Recommended Posts

For a racing joke WAD I want to do based on the Bran Racing joke cracked in the GameKing thread.

I already have a basic idea on how it'll be done.

script 1 ENTER
{
delay (35*120); //Two minutes in tics
(Stop player movement**); //Disables player movement
delay (35*5); //delay until the level restarts
(Restart level**); //Restarts the level
}

**These are the gaps that need filling.

Well, I'll tell you right now, the Delay you have set right now will leave that script hanging for well over a month game-time. What the hell do you plan on doing?

(HINT: ACS doesn't measure time in microseconds. It is measured in "tics", which refers to a measure of 1/35 sec.)

A month? You're far short of it. ;)

10000000*120=1200000000 tics = 34285714.stuff seconds = 571428.bits minutes = 9523.odds hours = 396.ends days = about 13 months.

While your arithmetic is correct, you are not quite correct with the values Kagemaru_H gave. :-)
A little bit over 1 month would be more like it. So, Fisk was right.
Still, I wouldn't want to be playing that race, even though it may be a 'jokewad'.
One could grow a beard.
