We made an animation using Doom

Hey everybody,

Me and T.V. (the Harmony guy) made an animation using Doom! We also used various other techniques in the video such as stop motion and cut out animation.
Please check it out (make sure you see it in HD):



The thing was a lot of work but we're really happy on how it turned out :-)

btw space is green is the name I use when I make drawings and video. T.V. uses the name Rabotik. It's confusing I know...
oh, and my mother helped make the puppet clothing :-D

Pretty awesome use of the engine - if you hadn't said it was Doom, I almost wouldn't have noticed (really, the head-bobbing is the only thing that makes it distinctively Doom).

That was profound. Amazing stuff.

So those are Doom textures on the walls in various parts, or did you just make the actual 3D space in Doom and add the walls/floors in afterward?

from 1:22 upto 2:25 it's a recording in Doom (with custom textures and sprites). The rest of the animation is made without Doom.

Thank you. I watched a minute and couldn't figure out how it could be Doom...

I felt like dying when I watched this.... It' so awesome that it was killing me.
But as said before, I couldn't tell it was Doom until the movement after that scene.

We don't have any scholing in animation and we don't understand any modern 3D programs. But we do know how to make wads! This is the only way we know how to make 3D animation :-).

You should make a playable wad using that style. It would be awesome.

Nice one. It all seems to be fitting together nicely (abstract/sketch textures and sprites, overall theme).
