Unfortunately, that's not a lot of people. And Fox is 10% news and 90% opinions, due to having to fill up a 24 hour news channel. The same problems crop up on MSNBC and CNN, which is why I just get my news from BBC's news service. 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted March 5, 2010 Fox News is best watched while in a state of altered or suspended consciousness. :-) mammajamma said:GreyGhost, do you think you could add names and double the size, or would that be too much work for you? While doubling the size is no problem, adding names is. One solution I'll look into is html image mapping - placing a hotspot under each marker to display the member's name when moused over. 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted March 6, 2010 Bump - New graph, now in glorious HTML. Opera users - check that Show tooltips is enabled in Preferences/Advanced/Browsing. 0 Share this post Link to post
mammajamma Posted March 7, 2010 Looks awesome. I don't care for the graph skewing much, but it's done reasonably enough that you'd hardly notice, given the collected views of the Doomworld community. 0 Share this post Link to post

Andy Olivera Posted March 7, 2010 I normally avoid the political threads because I find arguing with people who have a fundamentally different viewpoint is a waste of time, but since so many people are throwing their hats into the ring, I will too. My politicalcompass.org results: Economic Left/Right: 7.88 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.31 http://www.politicalcompass.org/facebook/pcgraphpng.php?ec=7.88&soc=-0.31 Commentary on a few of the questions: If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations. Strongly Agree I'd guess this moves me toward the left on the graph, but that would be incorrect. I oppose the existence of corporations(a form of socialism), but I also know that free trade and capitalism will provide the best results, thereby "primarily serving humanity". People are ultimately divided more by class than by nationality. Strongly Disagree Actually, people are primarily divided by culture. Controlling inflation is more important than controlling unemployment. Strongly Agree Of course, we wouldn't have to worry so much about inflation if our currency was based on something(like maybe GOLD)! Because corporations cannot be trusted to voluntarily protect the environment, they require regulation. Disagree Again with the corporations... "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" is a fundamentally good idea. Strongly Disagree It's a perfect system until you introduce human nature into the equation. The mixture of the perfect and the imperfect will always yield imperfect. It's a sad reflection on our society that something as basic as drinking water is now a bottled, branded consumer product. Strongly Disagree The only sad part is that people are stupid enough to buy it. It is regrettable that many personal fortunes are made by people who simply manipulate money and contribute nothing to their society. Strongly Disagree Again, if the currency couldn't be manipulated so easily this wouldn't be an issue. The prime function of schooling should be to equip the future generation to find jobs. Strongly Agree The primary function of education should be to make people self-sufficient, of which job training is only a part. A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system. Strongly Disagree It's a fact, yes, but that doesn't mean I in any way support a one-party state. Some people are naturally unlucky. Strongly Disagree WTF? I'm with Mr. Freeze, though, the one at politicalquiz.net better shows my views. It does, however, place me in the neocon category, which, given my Libertarian/Authoritarian score, is beyond ridiculous. Conservative/Progressive score: 0 (Conservative) Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 0 (Purist) Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 0 (Libertarian) Pacifist/Militarist score: 11 (Militarist) 0 Share this post Link to post

I obviously didn't skew it far enough. :-) Graph updated. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted March 8, 2010 Heh, after looking at that graph I'm a bit amazed that I'm still one of the most left/liberal people around here. 0 Share this post Link to post
coderamen Posted May 29, 2023 I am very left wing and libertarian on the scale. It actually depicts me to the left of Bernie Sanders. 0 Share this post Link to post
