export linedefs and vertex lumps as text files

Recommended Posts

Hello
I've noticed that when i'm looking at a wad in XWE, when selecting this lumps, the program arranges them in a nice looking excel-like sheet. It is possible to export this "sheet", so i can edit it in Excel or something?

Thanks!

In the end i got around with an hexadecimal editor and a (very) crudely and specificly program written in Java. If anyone ever needs something like this, send me a mail.

In the end there's nothing quite like rolling your own tools to do specific tasks like these, so long as you have the know-how. I know I've had to do similar tasks in the past.

I've just finished doing what the thread was intended to: to create a first version of a little program capable of converting a wad file to a dxf file (an autoCAD drawing). For now, it only makes 2D drawings. If i'm bored enough, i might consider adding 3D capabilities, so any mapper/architect/civil engineer (aka, myself) out there can have their maps on autoCAD.

Yay me.
