Khorus Posted April 15, 2010 And it's finished! Go get it from /idgames! Note that I have found two bugs in the current release (curse last minute balancing!), and will upload a new version at the end of the weekend to fix them and any other issue brought up. The bugs are a baron not rising from a lower to highest floor being mistaged on m7, and there being two cybers on m8 on skill 2 rather than one. So demo dudes keep that in mind. See this thread for E1. ------------------------------------------ Base Ganymede is an episodic vanilla doom 1 project set on one of Jupiter's moons named Ganymede. That's about the extent of the story. ;) Planning on 3 episodes. I'm aiming at another 8 maps. So far, M1 - M4 are completed. Screens: M1 Map (512 grid) 1 M2 Map 1 2 M3 Map 1 M4 Map 1 2 M5 Map 1 2 3 M6 Map 1 2 M7 Map 1 0 Share this post Link to post

John Smith Posted April 15, 2010 Looks pretty interesting, I should probably go and play Episode 1. 0 Share this post Link to post

Graf Zahl Posted April 16, 2010 User error? The WAD loads fine for me. 0 Share this post Link to post
Hellbent Posted April 17, 2010 maybe i should have clarified. The link I first used was for a bad version of the wad, hence my original post. When I found the proper link, I edited my post and crossed it out to indicate that if you download the right ganymede wad it works fine (my post links to the right download). 0 Share this post Link to post
ptoing Posted April 17, 2010 Just played the first 2 and a half levels here and I have to say good stuff. I then got raped by a Cacodemon because I was careless :/ This wont hold me back from playing the first 2 levels again though (this time I will save). Really nicely done as well, esp considering it's vanilla. Looking forward to the other 2 episodes. 0 Share this post Link to post
Cupboard Posted April 17, 2010 Hey I really liked E1 when I played it a while back. Definitely I'll check this out when you're done. 0 Share this post Link to post

Odd, all the links work on several browsers on my end. No matter, at least it's sorted out. :) ptoing said:Just played the first 2 and a half levels here and I have to say good stuff. I design my levels for pistol start so that's another option. :) TheCupboard said:Hey I really liked E1 when I played it a while back. Definitely I'll check this out when you're done. Khorus Posted May 17, 2010 Maps 1 - 3 are finished with a shot of M3 in OP. Forgot map shots when I started the thread, so they're up now too. :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Khorus Posted July 14, 2010 M4 is finally completed with screens in the OP. I've tried to do something quite different with it like with E1M8, so people are probably going to either love or hate it. 0 Share this post Link to post

scwiba Posted July 14, 2010 The first Base Ganymede is one of my favorite levelsets of the last few years. I've been eagerly awaiting the sequel since I played it. Just hoping for a more climactic M8 on this run. 0 Share this post Link to post
Khorus Posted August 2, 2010 M5 is well on the way, with 2 new shots in the OP so check them out! Kyka said:I just noticed this thread. Thanks. :) I think I can do a more usual M8 here seeing as E2M4 is the odd gameplay map for this episode. 0 Share this post Link to post

Well, that's the second time you've said that, and you're the only one to have reported any issue. It works fine for ZDoom and all derivatives for me, can you give any more information? @DuckDodgers: MABEH... 0 Share this post Link to post

iori Posted August 3, 2010 @hellbent: Have you tried playing it without 'zvox.wad'? Try all sorts of things.. does it work in gzdoom for you? What about other ports? Why do you use ganymede.wad? Did you rename bgnymd.wad? Try downloading it again from the archives. Redownload zdoom as well to be sure. Fuck, reformat if that doesn't work.. ..but posting a zdoom crashdump for a map author to peruse isn't really you attempting to solve your problem. Post something in the zdoom forums if you're having trouble with that port. @Khorus: Looks awesome mate!! I love the low-res screens too. 0 Share this post Link to post
Khorus Posted August 4, 2010 @hellbent: uh, what iori said. ;) Try a different port. iori said:@Khorus: Looks awesome mate!! I love the low-res screens too. Thanks. :D 0 Share this post Link to post
Khorus Posted September 3, 2010 M5 is finished with a new screen (3) and a mapshot up. I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out, certainly my best hellish map to date. M6 is well under way too. The wad is starting to come together now. :) 0 Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted September 4, 2010 I've been testing these maps and anyone who enjoyed E1 of this project is going to love E2. Adam grown quite a bit as level designer since that was released. 0 Share this post Link to post
Khorus Posted September 18, 2010 M6 isn't far from finished. OP updated with some screens. Turning out to be my favourite map in this episode. edit: Well, I would put screens in OP. But I'm getting a message saying the post is too old for me to edit now and to contact an admin (have I been working on this wad for that long already? D:). Don't have time to email atm, so screens are here for now. M6 1 2 @kristus: hurr :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Khorus Posted October 10, 2010 M6 and M7 are finished, and the OP's updated with some shots. Not far to go now. :) @Use3D: Thanks :D 0 Share this post Link to post
