Tribeam's Wad Extractor(Beta)

Recommended Posts

Hello, Tribeam here(using a very very old account I made years ago)

Introducing:
http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/5410/wadextractor.png

What it does:
It extracts all the files within a wad file into a folder with a ZDoom pk3 file structure.

How to use:
Everything you need to know is in the help button.

Note:
This is still in beta stage which means I guarantee someone will find a bug somewhere.

Download:

Credits:
Tribeam - Creator
Firewolf, TheMisterCat, Zap610 - Beta Testing
igpack11.wad - Having a nicely organized wad to test with.

EDIT: due to a typo i missed there was serious bug, i fixed it and you should download the new 0.2 version.

EDIT2: Version 0.3 released - Fixed a bug that caused the extractor to extract the contents of a wad to the root of the partition you selected. Also some code clean up.

Version 0.2 ignores the destination directory and unpacks to the partition's root directory, it also fails to recognise MUS files in IWADs. I'm using XP-Pro with Service Pack 3.

That works better, though it didn't pass the Archvile test when run on Doom2.wad.

Also misread and saved the S_END marker as a sprite.

Yeah that's a common problem with new wad tools at first. Easy to forget that wad lump names aren't necessarily valid file names ;)
