Subliminal Television.

Recommended Posts

The history of subliminal advertising and hidden images in movies and television goes back to the second world war and the history of control of the populace goes back to the times of the roman empire, where they would hold shows in the arena and everyone was to attend even the lowest classes and slaves were to attend. They used the symbolism of the heroic deeds of the star of the show and his victory over the evil adversary. This is used today in the countless Hollywood movies depicting a hero fighting against various evil enemies. Sometimes they are enemies of America or Britain and the hero is fighting against the perceived terrorist or enemy of the moment, such as a man plotting to release a chemical agent to wipe out humanity or to set off a bomb in a city and cause damage and loss of life.

The people watching the movie are drawn into it by the sympathy they have with the star and are transfixed watching the drama unfold not realising they are numb to all of the other subliminal messages in the feature presentation. The famous movie `The Exorcist` was written and directed by William Peter Blatty, who worked at the Psychological Warfare Division of the Pentagon during World War II and learned various techniques of psychological imagery which was used in that movie. Nowadays there are more and more explicit movies with extremely violent and disturbing content, which has been said to be a release for the pent-up aggression of the populace, this was described in the book `Nineteen Eighty Four` by George Orwell where they used a daily television programme called `Ten Minutes Hate` which was a release for the pent-up aggression of the people which was put there by the ruling party in the first place.

But with FOX News and CNN and MSNBC, CBC, CBS, BBC et cetera, there is a huge program of brainwashing the population to hate the Islamic race and blame them for every thing that is happening and also the shocking psychological attacks of September 11 and the London bombings as well as Bali. We are being conditioned to accept more and more restrictions on movement and more surveillance by authorities as shown in various movies like `Eagle Eye` which depicts the surveillance of the people by the government and that we can be tracked anywhere we go. But the media will continue to get more and more violent and repulsive, using peoples fears about terrorism and other problems of the world to create increasing levels of blood-lust among the population, who will increasingly become accustomed to the violence depicted on the television and the cinema and then there will be a need for more violent content to further shock and titillate the population with increasing levels of sex and violence. Cage fighting may evolve into actual death-matches as shown in the movie `Mad Max`. The cinema and television is creating an uneducated population that only knows the science as shown on the silver screen and do not know anything that does not exist outside the realm of Hollywood.

The Gulf of Mexico oil leak threatens life itself, but people are too enamored with a oracle Octopus to take any notice. Sure the ocean is dying, but look there is a new Twilight movie! And the World Cup, do not worry about the future, just lay back and watch the game, the government will take care of you!

I'd probably want to read this more if you subliminally added some paragraph breaks.

The islamic race? What is that, like the Gaza grand prix or Dubai 500 or something?

The Gulf of Mexico oil leak threatens life itself

No it doesn't. It's not even the largest spill ever quite yet. It threatens the marsh ecosystems of the mississippi delta. But most importantly, it threatens beaches where people lay about. Anyway, the gulf of mexico is mostly an aquatic deadzone anyway from decades and decades of fertilizer runoff flowing out the mississippi so the oil doesn't matter too much really.

It's enough to kill the local economy here, completely. Soon the beaches will be deserted as they were in 1930. (and if you could back up the "deadzone" comment without a link from geocities that'd be great too since it's the first I've heard of this.)

It's unfortunate you'd pull out a 'geocities' comment for this tbh.

@OP: I hear you. I haven't payed much attention to mainstream media in years. You may of heard of the elitist Edward Bernays,( iirc, a cousin of Freud) who is considered to be one of the fathers of modern propaganda. He summed it all up succinctly back in 1928:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bernays#Propaganda

Bernays, along with Freud & the Tavistock Institute, has the elitist viewpoint that the masses are irrational and herd-like and need to be manipulated for their own good.

As far as the gulf spillage, it really should of been an international all hands on deck, 'moon-landing' effort from the get-go. Instead there seems to be a massive cover-up of how bad it really is, where it is a felony for 'non-embedded' photographers etc... to report on it. But like a lot of things nowadays, in america at least, there seems to be a massive discrepancy between what is apparently shown in the media vs reality.

Ah... I understand now, the pretty bleached blondes can't suntan for a while, that's the problem. It does nothing to those living organisms in the sea and all that.

Well, the beaches are the only concern of a lot of people. I mean, if we really gave a shit about the oceans, would we really sit around and drill for toxic substances in deep water with little to no oversight or overfish ourselves into unemployment, starvation and ecological collapse or throw literal tons of garbage, chemical runoff and nuclear waste into it?

The fact is the oceans are incredibly large and because of that humanity always has and forever will see them as something to be eternally and infinitely exploited with absolutely no consequence.

The idea of "controlling the populace" goes back as far as you can trace organised religion. I imagine the rest of your facts are equally well thought out so I didn't read much more.

Well, that was an awful post. Were it an essay it would get a failing grade for several reasons Dodgy facts and no examples of this subliminal messaging make for an anti-argument.

And why does every second American interest group have something against The Exorcist? There's nothing special about that stupid movie, except that it's badly paced and makes laughable attempts at being scary.

It's not great or anything, with some evident flaws (such as you noted about the subliminal) but it's not so bad in other senses. Entertainment is indeed a huge propaganda machine for ideology. There is no such thing as "simply entertainment".

Yeah, I heard the reptilians invented it to conspire against true humanity.

Symbolic methods of controlling the public should go back as far as you can trace human language.

Which raises the question...WHO wants to control the public? Who's the One, the First controller of the public?

Yes but who's the Original Public Controller, the one from which all the subsequent Kings, Tyrants, Sergeants giving the "Rooster and hens" speech and Forum Moderators descended? :-p

In most cases their power's derived from a local deity or pantheon. For monarchs it's either the "divine right of kings" or they're regarded as living gods, tyrants enjoy behaving like a god in their own petty fiefdom (much like surgeons), sergeants are near the bottom of their pyramid of delegated authority - which probably accounts for their attitude - and forum moderators obviously derive their powers from the godlike admins. ;-)
