Hello forum,

I am a lurker, and recently registered.

I'm working on a small map project that my father was working on almost two decades ago. I've become decent at mapping, but not at a good quality to upload a .wad yet to the archieves.

At the moment to revive my father's project I am starting from scratch, and I am using his office building for refrence for the basis of the map.

He has kindly given me some AutoCad files (.dwg) that he told me that he used oh so long ago in an application that converted .dwg files into .wad files. I am curious if anyone knows of this application, and if it does exist still.

I gaurentee that it will be a decent map, and have a good balance of ammo and monsters. If this single map is a success I will happily turn it into a small map pack for you all.

Again, does anyone know of the application I was shortly talking about in paragraph three.

Well, the files linked below seem to allow you to convert WAD files to DWD files, but I couldn't find anything about DWG files or conversions in the other direction. (I'm not really familiar with AutoCad.)

You could try some more searching in the idgames database, probably using the "whole textfile" option to get more possible results, or browse the utils sections.

Hmm... the first one requires some DOS version of AutoCad, and the second one doesn't say anything about DWG files.

I hope that someone can find a way to get this to work, I found some blueprints in DWG format. Could be good for getting quick layouts.

Thanks for the suggestions, and after passing it by several times my father believes that the first given file is believed to be the right one.

Edit: Methinks first is correct.
