DOS Port with more that 4 Players for DOS LAN on DoReCo Weekend?

We are having a DOS LAN on a retro party in two weeks and i need a good port for DOS that supports more than 4 players.
Any suggestions?

The port should work on 486s too.

Doom Legacy supports up to 32 players and has a DOS version.

You could also play Hexen, which takes up to 8 players.

Legacy on a 486 may lag, especially if these are not DX2-66 or better.

I remember Doom2.exe lagging a bit on a 486-DX4-100 in crowded maps.

DoomLegacy still has DOS support (and I really have to get around to testing it). It is still there in the new DoomLegacy 1.44 - alpha release, but not tested in that release yet.

Legacy has (or at least had) DOS binaries, I remember using these back 98-99 to play on our school network.

However, it will lag more than straight vanilla.
