Hexen based WADS?

What are some good Hexen based wads? (links please :P ) I have been playing Hexen a lot lately and it's one of my favorites out of them all :D but I only see heretic mods, why is that?
And p.s. can you jump in hexen? (I use Zdoom so there's a jump button but was it there in the original game?) thanks :D

Well, I can't help you on the "jumping" question because I have not played Hexen in any form (boo me).

Here are a couple of Hexen-based WADs I've stumbled across that have gotten above average to very good reviews:

Hexen: Scourge of Viscerus

The Dark Castle

The Dark Portal

The LychGate

Carnage Galore III: Fury of Vuradi

Riverwood Village

Starship

These were really some of the best reviewed ones. There aren't very many Hexen WADs out there, and a good amount don't have good reviews at all at /idgames. I hope this helps :)

Oh, and about why there aren't many Hexen WADs. I just remembered a thread from a short while back about 32in24 maps...I'm going to quote one of the members who posted in it because he/she pretty much summed up the answer to your question in a sentence:

Yes. Heh, try to get the helmet in Winnowing Hall without jumping...

There are a few Hexen projects specifically for ZDoom that have been released over the years. Serpent Resurrection, The Nadir were released quite recently.

For a long time, I didn't know you could jump in Hexen (I also didn't know about that helmet back then). I managed to get to the crushing icy pillars in map 2, when that one step was just a bit too high to climb over. I even tried using one of those pillars to get me over, but that didn't work so well.

Serpent hasn't been released officially yet (beta's don't count), almost there though :p
