ultdoomer Posted September 5, 2010 I have an older Doom 2 IWAD version that I'd like to upgrade to 1.9. I tried this (http://doomgate.de/content/files/ladopato/index_en.html), but it just gives me a runtime error 53 file not found. Any other suggestions? 0 Share this post Link to post
Mad Butcher Posted September 5, 2010 There is a newer version for 64 bit Windows (doomiwad_patches.zip) here. 0 Share this post Link to post
ultdoomer Posted September 5, 2010 Thanks for the link, but could you help me with the syntax? Where exactly should doom2.wad be placed and what is the syntax? The help file is confusing. 0 Share this post Link to post
Mad Butcher Posted September 5, 2010 Place bspatch.exe, Doom 2 IWAD, and the patch file you need in the same directory. For example, running this command will upgrade Doom2.wad v1.666 to v1.9:bspatch.exe doom2.wad doom219.wad 1666_19"doom219.wad" will be the upgraded IWAD. Or run this command to overwrite the old IWAD:bspatch.exe doom2.wad doom2.wad 1666_19 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted September 6, 2010 You can always use the original patches with DOSBox, assuming the normal command line in Windows 7 is retarded. Some patches don't show up in the Doomworld database because it is a bit myopic and only shows ZIP files, so one needs to head over directly to idstuff on any mirror. 0 Share this post Link to post
ultdoomer Posted September 7, 2010 Thanks Mad Butcher. I got it working now. 0 Share this post Link to post

myk Posted September 9, 2010 Did you try using the command line from Windows directly to apply that patch? 0 Share this post Link to post
